  1. Hi, I would appreciate any info on how to diagnose this problem. I replaced the 5 spd trans in a 72 Z ( 2.8L) to another 5 spd from a 83 non turbo. The problem is I have no electrical power at all, none. The batt is new, ground cable from neg post is on trans mounting bolt and is not broken or dirty. I hooked up the reverse switch with 2 bullet connectors. There were also 2 more bullet connectors a couple of inches away. I could not see anywhere were they should hook up. I think there has to be some kind of a neutral safety switch that is not hooked up. Anyone know where these connectors go or any ideas. The car was fine electrically before the trans replacement. Thanks

That car detailed inside out, and with a paper trail to verify mileage would sell for 10k + in the N.J. / N.Y. area. Ztherapy's polished roundtops ( I have them) are gorgeous carbs. Putting a couple of hundred into original hoses, caps etc and detailing.Would make this car really stand out. Very nice ,keep it original as much as possible. That is the best color combo imo.

Very nice job on the resto. I like the luggage bar in the back area. I remember the taxi driver telling us about the huge fines for speeding or driving on the left side of the road. I am curious, do you have to pass safety or emmision inspections for antique cars in Germany?

Thorsten please lets see some pics, before and after. Is it modified to run faster, or all original? I remember being in a BMW 735 taxi going 120MPH on the Autobahn. We had a Porsche (959 I think) blow past us,must have been doing close to 200MPH. Lucky man to have access to such a great highway. I was on my way to Straussberg, near Kiel Germany. -Rick

I may be off completely, but I think I remember he was selling the car. He was moving on, I thought it was on one of his posts. Anyone else? The man is a machine, anyone with those skills is impressive.

Nice job ,thanks Z train. I had never seen many of those cars. That red 260 and the Stag were outstanding. - Rick Q.

Good morning, after searching I still do not have an answer. I am switching from the stock exhaust manifold to the 3 to 2 no smog headers on a stock 77 280Z. I switched to all studs ( 10 mm studs at # 1 and 6)and need the following info please: 1. What is the torque specs to tighten down the nuts. 2.Is it a good idea to use two gaskets( the metal in between ones)when installing? I will be adding copper permatex to both the block side and header. 3.Proper tightening sequence is from the center to the outside right, or it does not matter with headers? Thanks, I am posting these questions on Zcar also, I need to get this done today. THANKS -Rick

Thanks guys, for the comments. I have nothing but praise for Dave Rebello and his work. The car runs great lots of power and no issues. I have called him a couple of times and he was real helpfull. In fact ever since I bought the 72 I rarely drive my 77Z. (I bought that one from the original owner last year. Its going up for sale soon, it has 68k documented miles) Once you get use to the stroker other cars feel flat. It is worth the money ($6,800). Thanks bigOak for posting the pics. Yes its in NJ, not many Z cars in this state. The coolant reservoir is that what you are seeing? Unfortunately I am having 2 issues with the car I will research then post.

At least I provided some humor here, I do have a 72 Z in fact two plus a 77 Z. Rich informed me that nothing showed up, I will introduce myself and post shots on Thursday. It was my fault, I washed and detailed it so well - I can not see it! I think by Thursday it should start showing up! -Rick
  12. Hey Kevin I live right around the corner from Rich, the guy I assume you are looking to buy the 72 Z from. I am a photog and have 3 Zcars. I KNOW Rich and have seen the car. Just today he stopped by in it , while I was working on mine. Drop me an email with your number, I can shoot it IF Rich is ok with that. Rick wyatt80@optonline.net

  15. Hey where in Freehold are you? I am East Freehold, by Colts Neck. I just picked up another 72Z on Ebay, it was the one for $10,900. It was Ken Sakson's mint car , he just passed away - tragic loss. Are you the guy with the red 72 that stopped by the one day. If so I lost your info. I really need to join the N.J. Z Club. -Rick

I am impressed with all the knowledge here! I looked at this car and saw a perfect Z. The only thing obvious was the aftermarket carbs. Would anyone of you gents be interested in checking out a Z car (top to bottom) for me next year. I figure in either AZ or CA? I will pay for time and travel. As a photog I believe a wide angle lens was used, then cropped. The camera appears tilted on the right side, the white checker on the right angles upward. Thanks

Darbji , I was in a auto accident back in Sept. initially I was told by the ER Doctors go home , then back to work in 2 days. The long story short: I have both a torn and a herniated disk , dislocated jaw etc.. I will be back to work probably in July. Next month they will take two disk out and screw in a metal box to connect the neck to the rest of the spine. These injuries become progressively worse , invest in yourself. Find a top notch Neurologist to order MRI and exam your back etc.. Do not assume you are ok , get checked out. Do not accept $$ or sign insurance co. papers. I am in N.J. so I can not recommend a lawyer . Call the Indianna Bar Assoc. and ask for the top personnal injury attorney in your state. Protect yourself , the insurance co. is looking for a quick ,cheap end to this. I hate to be a downer but your car was hit hard , your neck had to have snapped back quickly. I do not want to take up anymore space here if you need any more info., contact me at lightimages@optonline.net Take care , hopefully I am off the wall and you are ok. -Rick MODERATOR - SORRY for off topic, but this important info . for anyone who drives. BTW- the accident is why I started surfing for Z sites. Now I can not wait to buy a series 1 down the road , lets see.
