Since my round trip drive to work in G'ville is 45 miles and I do it 6 days a week this is how I let my cars share the joy and get their exercise. 72Z-1 day 82ZXT-2 days 03 GMC Envoy- 3 days That will change if it raining or to damn hot then the Envoy gets the exercise.

    Thanks, I'll try that

I bought the same interior door fuzzies and noticed the same thing about the staples. I have not done anything yet. Trying to figure out how to get the old ones off and how to secure the new ones.

They are find to find and do cost. I know the MSA had only passenger side one a few years ago when I was looking for them, I got a used driver side from one from a Zcar specialist web sight in Arizona but I can't remember the name. Good luck hunting.
  5. Congratuations on your find. Looks good from the outside. Take care of the basics before you jump into all the other things. It's easy to skip things that are more important than headers and carbs. Don't be disapointed if it has 150,000, 50,000 isn't much even if it sat for the last 10 years unless the PO has good documentation of it's total history. BTW there's nothing wrong with round top carbs and if rebuilt and calibrated they work great. Good luck with your project. It's a great little sports car.
  6. Joe, I know your pain. I had to do that many years ago when kids came along. The priority is your family the Z comes second. Things such as camping with your son are things he'll remember at his age now. If you need to sell it for monetary reasons that's what you have to do. When your son get's to the age of being interested in cars(which he will) and you can afford it then it's time to get a project Zcar you and him can share. That's what happened with my son and me and now he has his own 73Z and is a Z nut.
  7. Did you mean Daytona racing capital of the world?

Jim, Thanks for the clip. Couldn't make it down to your party but I'll sure try next year. BTY Carl, I,m trying like hell to get up to Amelia to see your car in the show.
  13. I second Will but since Carl comment I guess I'll third.
  14. What has happened to the Z community in Florida since Daytona? No more Z-Fest in Orlando, Autocross in Gainesville an occasional thing in South Florida but not a statewide event. There was recently the 370Z tour stop in Orlando held in a strip mall paking lot but there were more Honda's and other imports there. It is a shame.
  15. Mine had a little more of a gap after replacement but as previously mentioned it does add some more ventilation.
  16. I replaced my AT 72 dizzy with a ZX dizzy, had no problems with tach just had to get a coil upgrade, runs great
  17. Will count me in
  18. I'm planning to go with my son. Hopefully some of the Z's in G'ville are planning too. Keep me informed about places to stay and things like that. Bill

Thanks for all your comments. There are certain things I can do but this is not one I'll attempt. Carl, Mike I'll take your advice since the heads coming off it does make sence to look at the other things while it's off. Thanks Bill

So I spent most of last night fixing an oil leak caused by a bad gasket on the oil pump. Once i finished that I set my timing and took the car out for a quick spin to check the seal. Once I got back home I looked under the car to see if it had worked and I noticed a stream on coolant running from the back of the block. iIfollowed it up to the top of the block and found that there was a leak coming from the head gasket and spraying onto to transmission. Its a small leak. It's not blowing any smoke so I think its just leaking to the outside. Does this mean its time to replace the gasket? This isnt work I would do myself, so if yes how much does it usually cost to have this done? Also would a coolant sealant work because of the small amount of leakage?

If you read all the posts to that thread the owner knows what he has and is playing with ya. He states about all the other cars he has in his collection if true he knows his way around the block. It looks to be an amazing and if true is worth what many are saying. But with the way the economy is now classic car prices are down just look at BJ auctions on the Speed chanel right now.

I have to agree the CD from ZTherapy is worth the $. I'm not a mechanical person but atfer getting tired of changing fouled plugs, bad mileage, running like crap and the smell of gas coming out of my exhaust I bought it. I was able to tune my carbs by myself and it now runs great. Thanks Dave
  23. I went to the event in Orlando this last Sunday. There were a few first gen Z's, 300's, 350's and one GTR no ZX's. They had not provided special a place for the Z's to park and the lot was filled up with a bunch of Mod Honda's. What a joke, I thought I was going to a Nissan event. I hope it doesn't happen down there.
  24. Wow!!
