http://good-times.webshots.com/album/562590375hsIsRE Here are some pictures that I took from today. Talked them down to 1000 and put down a 50 dollar deposit on it. The car looks very solid other then the rockers and part of the hatch. The floors are good, battery area is good, frame rails are nice. Had a hard time getting it started and had to use some ether. The carbs need to probably be tuned and im sure a general tune up is needed as well. The car was trapped in by other cars so I couldn't try the tranny and all that. What do you guys think? Think its worth the price? The paint is trashed, but im ok with that. I pretty much just wanna get it into driving order and daily drive it. How much do you think fixing the rockers and that hatch section would cost? I would be doing all the work myself so all I would need is the price of the patch panels. Also the seats are torn, but the rest of the interior isn't that bad. Tach was bouncing all over the place so something was up with that. It needs an ignition switch too so thats on the list as well. I can't think of much more to include, but what do you guys think?

1972 240z
Hey, tomorrow im heading out to NJ to check out a 72 240z 4 speed car. The car was originally the lime green color but has been painted blue (dont know the quality of the paint job cause I haven't seen pics). There is rust in the 1/4's as well as the rockers. They said the floors were fine and the hatch, I would just need to check out the rest of the areas. I believe he said the engine was rebuilt somewhere in new jersey but im not sure how long ago. The seats are ripped and some of the gauges dont work properly. The ignition switch is broken so they have a cable hooked to the starter and tap it on the battery to start the car. The price is 1500, but I know I can talk them down to atleast 1000. I will try and snap a lot of pics when im there so you guys can tell me what you think. Hopefully they have a lift or the ground is dry enough for me to take a good look under it. What im looking for is just a nice daily driver condition car or something I can drive around while fixing up and upgrading. Based on the info so far, what do you think? I mean 1000 isn't a whole lot of money, but enough for me to not wanna waste. What would you do?

1974 260z 2+2
Yeah the rear seats are nice to have, but with them it also sacrifices the beautiful rear lines of the car. Also, I would be looking more into road racing then drag racing. I would maybe at one point install coilovers as money allowed but a set of stiffer springs and struts would suffice for some time. l28ET swap could also be something that I might be looking into.

1974 260z 2+2
Hey guys, I found a 2+2 around the corner from my house and went to check it out today. The Car is automatic so what actions would I have to take in switching that out? (2+2 uses different stuff then regular 260?). Also the front driver fender isnt attached at one of its mounting points so it wiggles alot when you pull on it. Paint is okish, some spots are chipped off and the rear quarter panel has bondo on it I believe. Interior seems mostly there and is in ok shape, could probably use a nice cleaning. The guy said he would take 300 for it which isn't a whole lot of money.. He said the car runs and drives but the carbs are an issue ( I think it has stock carbs). I would probably just swap on som SU's anyway and call it a day. This car would be my daily driver to and from school and to cruise around. You think its worth picking up or should I wait it out and look for a 2 seater. How much worse is the 2+2 at performing then the 2 seater, because im looking for a car that I could occasionally track. Overall im looking for a crazy handler that i can drive everyday and fix up along the way. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Elliot.

Yeah, I was looking for something to fix up while driving it, but then this came along. I figure it's worth checking out still.

72 240z help
The work would be done by myself, with possibly the help of my father. Already have the tools to do the work (welder, grinders, etc.). I think the biggest thing would be being able to recreate the patch panels to put them in. Other then that I think it would be a learning experiance.

72 240z help
Well the car is coming with replacment floor pans.. and hopefully the rest of the rust could just be replaced with sheet metal. Not sure on the carbs, he just said upgraded. Apparently the motor is "done", which im assuming means it is fine (probably could use a tune up). Obviously the car would be a project with the rust repairs it needs. I think I just need to see the car in person to really see what condition it's in. Ps: Dying..

72 240z help
Hey guys, i'm looking to buy a z car and recently came acrossed a 72. The car is free, but is in need of work. It needs the floors replaced (comes with replacments), and other body work as the car is said to have rust in spots throughout the car. The engine is a 280 bottom end with a 240 head with a cam, carb upgrade, header and exhaust. The interior is disassembled, but i believe he said it is mostly there. I still haven't seen the car so the extent of thr rust is unknown, but I'm sure its not in the greatest shape and the rockers have been effected aswell. The frame is straight and the title is clean. The roof is said to be thin aswell, seems like that would be hard to replace or fix. Does anyone think this car is worth picking up? Can't beat the price of free, I would just need to learn to weld (my dad has a welder and stuff) and start fixing it up. What would your opinions be? Thanks, Elliot.
