  1. Your'e correct. I went back to my notes and the price from Rebello is just for a bore & rebuild.
  2. I'm considering an engine upgrade. 1) Can get a rebuilt long block L28 from Datsun Parts on e-bay for about $2500, or 2) have Rebello Racing do a basic 2.8L bore & stroke job on my current engine for about $3500 Performance is about the same both ways. One benefit with Rebello is I keep my matching engine / chassis #'s. Anyone have experience with Datsun Parts long blocks? How big a deal is keeping my matching engine / chasis numbers?
  3. I'm planning a paint job on my silver 240. Keeping the metallic silver and considering subtle metallic charcoal for hood stripes and same on lower panel below doors. I know virtually nothing about modern paint technology. Want a good, high gloss and good chip resistance. Also, is one type of paint easier for stone chip touch-ups?
  4. I've searched the posts and there;s a lot on "how-to", but not much on if it's worth the effort... What are the pros & cons of changing to a 5-speed? JP
  5. I appreciate all the input and the pics. It really helped. Thanks! Oiluj
  6. Thanks for the info. It makes me much more comfortable spending the $ on the upgrade. Do you have a side-view pic of your car so I can get a feel for how the 15" wheels / tires look? Thanks! JP
  7. I'm considering replacing the wheels on my newly aquired 1972 series 1 Z. Like the look of the 8 spoke panasports and (knockoff) roti's. Read somewhere that moving to the 15" rims and 60 series tires improves handling. I'm thinking of moving to 15x7 wheels w/ 60 series tires 195 or 205 wide. Questions: 1) Any major issues with this change? Will these fit without hitting the wheel well when cornering, (club autocross), or if the suspension bottoms out? 2) Will a (maybe future) 4 piston totyota front brake upgrade fit with these wheels? 3) Will a (maybe future) rear wheel disc brake upgrade fit with these wheels? Thanks! JP
