  1. I had fit problems with MSA rear tower covers, but I may have gotten a bad set. Others have reported they fit OK.
  2. Watched it regularly until last season, at which point my interest faded. I'm still addicted to Game of Thrones and can't wait for the new season...
  3. I understand "calculated" top speed", but "calculated" 0-60 of 3 seconds? They couldn't just do a couple 0-60 timed runs? Absolutely beautiful car, but that sounds fishy...
  4. Not affilliated with vendor, just think it's a cool shirt, especially with Mr. K's passing. http://blipshift.com/products/mr-k?utm_source=blipshift+Updates&utm_campaign=9fab71db34-_Mr_K_2_27_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0513fd2cb9-9fab71db34-345793113&mc_cid=9fab71db34&mc_eid=faf1736972
  5. Some of us remember George, but perhaps not the younger members...
  6. I'm usually on the "purist", original parts side of these debates, but,,, Unless you have an original condition, Z432 or similar, from my perspective, an OEM Nissan shift knob is an OEM Nissan shift knob. They still have the same style shift pattern insert, which to my eye, is the biggest visually identifying characteristic. Just my personal opinion.
  7. Ran into this with my old MG. California DMV officer told me the firewall VIN is the "primary" VIN marking. The dashboard plate can be remade / replaced. What's critical is that you make certain it's correct. If it's incorrect, that CAN be interpreted as your trying to change the VIN, and that could land you in jail...
  8. I used vintage rubber seals for windshield and hatch glass, but style for stainless trim. Good fit and quality.
  9. Yep, doing them separately is a one person job. Pulling / installing the engine-trans combo together I consider a two person job.
  10. Wow! That sound should scare your competition away! Very Nice.
  11. Really? To each his own. The 246 Dino is one of my favorite cars. Shares much with our 240Z's, lovely curves, smaller engine, light weight and good performance (for it's time).
  12. Having done it both ways, I prefer to drop the transmission from underneath with the car on tall jack stands. Without the tranny, it's much easier to remove the engine from the engine bay. You have to put a support under the back of the engine so it doesn't rotate and damage the engine mounts. Down-side, it's more work, and more time on your back under the car...

    Ashtray Re-Do

As kids, we also did the gunpowder recovery from old shotgun shells. We also made "powdered magnesium" for our home-made fireworks by grinding those science class metal strips using bench grinder. We poured ice water on the grinding wheel and caught the magnesium "bits" in a coffee filter. We did get a course powder, that actually worked pretty well. However, my friend did get in trouble with his dad after the grinding wheel caught fire next time his dad used it! Amazingly, we all survived that summer of home-made fireworks with all our fingers and eyes intact...
  14. Anybody going there dressed like Elvis? Also, can you envision 300 S30 Z's rolling into Graceland?
  15. I like that solution. Probably how it "should" have been originally mounted.
  16. Casey_Z You will find the headlight relay makes a huge difference, especially in conjunction with halogen headlights!
  17. Thanks for sharing this. Never saw this piece of rubber on any of my cars. I'm going to have to try that on my neighbor's Z. Her passenger door closes hard. I'll first try using hard rubber sheet, or perhaps machine a snap-on piece from polyurethane.
  18. It's going to be nice. Will it be the same color? I saw a 240Z with a metallic brown almost the same as the stock color, but deeper with more of what I call a "root beer" color. It looked great!
  19. Seeing pictures like this makes me want to learn to weld better. I've done some welding, but my welds are pretty ugly...
  20. First, the yellow light is just an "indicator" light that the choke is on, (handle is not in the down position). It's activated by a small switch in the console. Based on your description, I'd first lift-up the console and make certain that the lever and cable mounts are not bent, broken and still mounted securely to the console. It's not uncommon for the plastic mounting points on console to strip or break....
  21. Sounds like an ignition problem to me also. Check the wires on the coil, resister, wires to distributor, etc.
