240Z in movies
Was watching a show on PBS last night and they had a documentary-type program on about the Swinomish Native American reservation around Anacortes, WA. At one point they talk about all the cars that are left to rust away on the res, and the first car they pan to is a Z. It was pretty quick but I'm pretty sure it was an S130 (280ZX).

Hello from NY...
Very cool. I'd enjoy popping open that hood in front of someone expecting the L6 and watching their facial expression when they see the "CORVETTE" lettering. I also like the red one. I'd never put a whale tail on my baby, but I always enjoy seeing them.

What Other Z/Datsun would/do you own and why?
Datsuns I would own if I could: - '91 300ZXTT has been one of my childhood dream cars so it would definitely be on the list. - A '70 510 coupe would be at the top of the list though. I've always loved the clean lines, and I was actually looking to buy one when I stumbled upon my Z. - Basically any year Skyline, of course. - Can anyone say R390 GT1? - '93 Sentra SE-R, the original cheapo import M3 fighter. Nissan's had a good run over the last century, I could go on an on...

Great 370Z design influences article
Check out this great article by Jalopnik on the design process/influences that led to the soon-to-be 370Z. 2009 Nissan 370Z: Design Dissected EDIT: I quickly wrote up this thread between classes, after only having skimmed it. On a further read, I wouldn't call it "great" but it is interesting none the less.

Car Cover Recommendations.....
I have a review of the MSA Gold Technalon cover under the 'Product Reviews' section of this site. I'd definitely recommend it.

MSA 3 into 2 Headers and Twice Pipes
No update yet. I'm currently out of town. I hope to get it all mounted by the end of next week (11/21). It's my top priority with the Z right now, so I'll be sure to update when it happens!

1972 shell parts to give away
Those are the rocker panels Dustin. And to ship some fenders, let alone a hood from Canada (Quebec, I believe) all the way over to Hawaii would probably be prohibitively expensive. Especially for a hs student short on cash.

Drivers door hinge?

1972 shell parts to give away
six shooter - You're right, I extended the box too far. I have corrected the picture to highlight the dogleg only. The area just above the circle could be included as well, but the area I circled is were the rust most commonly is.

1972 shell parts to give away
Joce- I'd like to get the driver's side upper door hinge. This is what it should look like. This is where it is located. This is what mine looks like. And just for reference, this is the dogleg Thanks, -Jon

"Yes we did!" It's finally over!
This is the non-car related section. This thread is a general topic that's totally legitimate. Grow up.

"Yes we did!" It's finally over!
I just wanted to say congratulations to President Elect Barack Obabma! It's been a long campaign, and it's great to finally have an outcome. Senator John McCain should be commended as well for being a great American, and gracious in defeat.

Purist vs practical
I know the temptation to keep the car stock. Initially I was against any real modifications because save for an electric sunroof, my car was almost entirely stock with only 63,000 miles. In the end I decided that I just don't have the money to maintain her as an original. NOS Replacement parts are just too expensive. And she's my DD (although I've only put 3,000 miles on her in the last year!) so I have to live with the fact that I'll never have that pristine Z that she could be... at least while I'm still in college. Therefore I decided to modify her as I please, but keep in mind that I might like to return her to "stock" some day, so everything must be reversible.

Mood altering event
I'd call it a "Life altering event". Sorry to here that, hope she is found and brought back safe and sound!

Hello from Finland
Hey, welcome to the club! You should check out what your neighbor from Stockholm is doing! Mull's 1971 240Z

Well I pulled the trigger and bought a 4 post lift for my Z
Very nice. One question though, and this goes to all lift users who park their DD's under the lift. Aren't you concerned about fluids, and other things falling from the undercarriage onto your Infiniti?

Audio Systems
ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT. You got me. Dave did like 98% of the install, so technically I helped. I... I... I just wanted to be one of the cool kids for once Dave!

MSA 3 into 2 Headers and Twice Pipes
FedEx guy just dropped off the parts! He came yesterday morning, but I was in class. So now, just like I promised, here are the unboxing pics. The headers look great! And I can't wait to hear how those pipes sound.

Audio Systems
I've got a Sony CDXGT-720 head unit, an MTX Audio 4-channel 800W TE404 Thunder Elite amplifier, a set of Polk Audio db series 6x9's and Polk Audio db series 5 1/4" component speakers with external tweeters and crossovers. My head unit is in the factory location, my amp is behind the driver's seat, the components are in the doors, tweeters in the kick panels and 6x9s are in the MSA rear hatch box. Here are some preliminary install photos. BTW, Z's-ondabrain helped with the install.

Sneak peak of the 2009 370Z
The headlights are funny, but it's apparent they're emulating the 240's styling much more this time. I like it.

Unbelievable project - Lambo in the Basement
Jalopnik's just posted a video of another hidden garage. This one doesn't have the bling of the multiple Lambo's, but is a more seamlessly integrated unit. Porsche Garden Garage Ups Ante In Underground Garage Cold War I CAN HAZ UNDERGROUND GARAGE?
