Well I didn't find 14, but I did find one in the checkout line this morning and just had to get it! Still keeping my eye out for a Z.
  2. Actually they're two separate systems. And the 3-D printers have the ability to form complex, moving, internal pieces which you can't do from a block of billet. The machine works like a 3 dimensional inkjet printer and like they said can use dissolvable materials in place of the plastic to create internal parts.
  3. I've got one of those @ school. It's a little bit older but still very cool to use.

Only if it's a ridiculously low production number, and all #'s match. But Dave is right, please use the 'Search' feature of these forums before asking so many questions. You've repeated many of them in multiple posts and they are quite hard to decipher. If you slow down and spend a bit more time reading, and thinking out the questions you'll find a lot more help and information. Welcome to the board.

    Uhh...? Can anyone translate?
  7. Rear drums may not be cool, but they're more than adequate for all but hardcore track time in the Z. I'm with 240znz, switch back.

    I laughed. I cried.
  9. Lots of info on this if you search for it. Multiple hoses and seals.
  10. I've been asked to provide more specifics on troubles with the solid diff mounts. Here's the thread I mentioned showing the cracked and fatigued crossmembers. Hybridz.org - What is the deal with solid diff mounts? There's a couple of other similar threads in their 'Drivetrain' section as well. gnosez noticed that i didn't read well enough and the RT mount doesn't cause this strain
  11. From what I've read, the "Ron Tyler" solid diff mount is primarily for V8 swaps and there's a lot of talk about it overstressing the crossmember leading to epic failure. Just do a search over there for 'Ron Tyler solid differential mount' and you'll find a lot of info. And some nasty pictures.
  12. There's a large sticky thread about this on Hybridz.org

You've got proper ground (bare metal) and solid terminal connections?

Welcome! I'm up north in Bellingham and a native of Vancouver, WA. There are some great Z people here in NW WA. Since no one else has said it yet, post some pics!

Welcome! I'm digging your Blue color and those deep dish rims. Be sure to post more pics!
  16. The term used around my auto shop is "Monkey Tape" and there are a few varieties. It's great for everything from the weather barrier you mentioned to sealing up bags for VARTM (Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding). We get it donated by the case load of both the black (medium sticky) and yellow (super sticky) variety. I'll try to remember to take a look tomorrow for a brand name.

At $750 it's definitely worth parting out for more than that, or used as a donor when you pick up a more solid example.

It wasn't anything you said Stephen. I was just making a general comment as well, and used your quote to tie it in.

Welcome to teh internets everyone! I can haz spellink? And I'm pretty sure it was intentional, judging by the quotes.
  20. I bought her sight-unseen for $4000 and this is the picture set from the craigslist listing. Had my dad go down and take a look and on his word, I transferred the money. A few days later my brother sent me a picture message on my phone saying "Look at the car Dad bought me!" Then I was finally able to go home the next week and pick her up! And I snapped these. *BTW* Carl, I was able to convince the licensing office I bought it for $900 bucks so I didn't have to pay the full tax. The NADA was like $5500 or so and I wasn't about to pay the tax on that.

As carbs go, SU's and Mikuni's are different beasts. Both are great when properly maintained and tuned though!
  22. I agree Arne. The squareness of those rims clash with the sweeping S30 lines. On a 510 however, I think they can be very complimentary.
  23. Yes Chris, it is a members car. I think he lives in Thailand. Or somewhere in the general south asian vicinity. He fixed it up very nicely if I remember correctly.
  24. This is a common problem with Zs. However, if the temperature is just rising and not actually 'overheating' you don't need to worry about it too much. My temp gauge sits at about 3/4 at all times. I have overheated a couple of times and have made small changes (fan shroud, ceramic header, replaced water pump) which all helped slightly. But again if it's not actually overheating, don't worry too much.

So many original parts are NLA that you'd best assume most pieces bought anywhere are aftermarket unless it specifically states otherwise. While it's true that Nissan still supplies many parts it is much more difficult to locate part numbers and have the dealership check whether they're still good or not, than thumbing through BD's catalog (or MSA) and ordering a part.
