  1. I used the center caps from the ZX 6 spoke wheel and had zero issues. I also did not clear my wheels after I stripped them...just kept polishing and cleaning as part of the routine.
  2. I'll let you know this week end. I've been busy at work so the seal is still in the box. It looks decent but I'll reserve my comments until after I try it on the car. Chris
  3. So I finally picked up the hatch seal from Vintage Rubber. Stuffed in a box, no plastic, nothing. Fine. Today (Sunday), I get an email from Randy Nickel at Vintage and all it says is : Your package was delivered Friday, have a nice day. I would think a small apology for the brutal service, the delays and everything else but I got the "Have a nice day" with him probably flipping the bird while he typed it. Unless I absolutely have to, I'm not ordering from him again. That sucks too because I have a clean 510 shell that needs ALL the seals replaced. beware.
  4. Absolutely. As mentioned, it's not the end of the world to wait but at least step up and tell me you are out of stock. Tell me, I will touch base on whatever day and give you an update. Tell me something. That is all I ever ask of anyone I do business with. I'm hoping they arrive tomorrow so I can head out and grab the goodies...we'll see what USPS is like. Stay tuned Chris
  5. I want to add a comment about Vintage Rubber here. I followed this thread as well as Guy's restoration and decided to order a couple of pieces from Vintage Rubber. 2 weeks ago it was all good and would have the product in a few days. No email, no shipping confirmation but the money is gone. I emailed Randy Nickel and I got a story about the 510 guys realizing the rubber was the same and they bought it all. As it goes, I had to badger him for another dozen attempts to finally get an email saying it was shipped last week before the long week end. In his words last Wednesday night, "it's on my desk and I will make sure it gos out first thing". I finally goy a tracking number and it was shipped the 5th, AFTER the long week end. Now, it's not the end of the word but I drive 2 hours to pick up my shipments as I live in Canada and travel into New York to save on duty. My other products have been waiting 2weeks for him to get his act in gear and it's disappointing he dropped the ball. I recently picked up a nice rust free 510 shell that needs complete seals and I don't have the faith to order from him again. Beware of delays and broken promises. I hope the seals were worth the wait and the headache. chris
  6. I've had 2 240Z's, one stock and one with the 280 engine. I'll take my current 260Z as it is over both for many different reasons. Being a 1/74 car, it shares everything with the 240Z except maybe the dash, the steering wheel and some foolish add-ons in the engine compartment. With the skinny bumpers, lowered stance and wheels, I'll bet most couldn't tell it was a 260Z unless they checked the tail lights. I LIKE MY 260Z. Chris
  7. I think they look great!
  8. Awesome, I don't think you will be disappointed with them at all. I bet they will look sweet on a silver car as well. Can't wait to see them on..it may inspire me to change mine again. Chris
  9. They are 15's with a 195/55/15 tire, lowered using the eibach kit from MSA as well. My 260Z is going in for paint and I'm hoping it looks as good as yours when finished. I am going to run the 15" Swastikas fully polished and the new chrome bumpers so I hope it turns out as nice as your car looks. Chris
  10. My Konigs were graphite when I bought them from MSA. I think they are one and the same color depending on who you are talking to.
  11. I bought mine through MSA and they were shipped right away with no issues. Of course you know I am totally on side with the darker center section so GO FOR IT. Chris
  12. Well, I finally pulled the old girl from the cold garage today and got her set up on the 15" Swastikas I finally acquired. I like the look of these wheels much better than the old gold mesh 14's. The bumpers are ok for now but I managed to grab a pair of super clean 260Z skinny bumpers, perfect chrome and they are going on this week end. All I can wish for is some sun as i feels like Seattle right now here in Southern Ontario.

You may find it difficult to source the body kit as I think it is no longer available. I saw a couple on ebay before but nothing recently. You could try and look up the ZG flares which can be added even after paint and it provides a nice bump over the wheels. Good luck

If you try looking up Jim Cook Racing, they used to make the wide body kit. Also, try Whitehead performance in North York as Greg/Mike may have old inventory stuff like this for the z car. The question is: why mess up a beautiful body line with the wide body add-ons? Chris

Hey Matthew, Congrats on the new car. I am in Oshawa and we have quite a few guys out this way and in Toronto with Z cars. Not to thread hijack but if you want something local as another resource, check out www.ontariozcar.com . Good bunch of fellows and we have started our get togethers already on Saturday mornings. Chris
  16. Palladin. Are your caps missing any of the "pins" on the back side? Any pics? I'm looking as well. Chris
  17. I have had a couple of poor experiences as well but they were minor purchases. Unfortunately I just purchased some wheels froma guy in California and I didn't pay attention to his feedback score. I have wanted the wheels for a while so I sprang for them and now it's crunch time. I had to threaten him with the Paypal complaint and ebay complaint process and more negative feedback before he would even respond to my email. then he wanted me to call him from Toronto to talk on the phone? I advised put it in writing so I can capture it for the record. Luckily, he shipped my wheels yesterday. Unlucky for him, he still gets negative feedback because he pissed around and didn't meet the obligation. Lesson: Deal with 100% feedback and a good number of transactions. Check for recent history and even then, cross your fingers. Chris

This is what it looks like

Hi Dave, No they aren't. I have something similar that fits the 6 spoke and I bought them in anticipation of using them on the Swastikas but they won't fit either. The ones I need are rather plain, simple Z with a thin black circle outline and the bottom of the center cap has "pins" which grab the back side of the wheel when you push in on. Kind of odd but whatever works. Chris

I have searched high and low for a decent set of these wheels and finally managed to buy a set last night. Only issue is that there are no center caps with the wheels. I have another set of caps but I believe they are for the 6 spoke 14" wheel. Anyone know where I might get my hands on a set of 4 or 5 caps for the turbo wheels? I'd appreciate a push in the right direction or feel free to PM me. If this should be in the wanted classifieds, I apologize and ask the mods for a redirection. Chris

The Z Store or MSA has been around for a very long time providing a parts source that others haven't even come close to. The old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Buy it used and maybe it will work or buy it new and know it will work. I've bought numerous pieces and I have never been disappointed with the quality or performance. My personal opinion is they have done a great job keeping this passion of ours alive with their parts sourcing, reproduction items and hard to find items. Chris

While I am not entirely familiar with the carpet kit from Z Specialties, I did order the carpet kit from MSA and it was excellent. I also installed the speaker panel on my 72 and it fit like a glove. perfect solution for not cutting holes in the interior and the sound was remarkably decent. Chris

I think if you were to stay period correct, the Ansen slots would be a good option and you can easily get 15" in this wheel with some good width. I think they are also really nice with the polished finish as well. As an FYI, I decided against the collector status when I lived there as I wanted to do what I wanted with the car and insurance was still only $400 or so for the 6 months I drove it. $59 for storage for the remainder of the year. Going this way I added the MP3 player, lowered suspension, etc. I'm sure you car will look awesome no matter which wheel you choose Dean. Chris
