Well I managed to get up to where the car is and start taking things apart...good news is that when I removed all the original carpeting and jute, there were only 2 small holes in the floors and the tar pads were almost completely intact.
The biggest bonus was when I picked up the driver side carpet, something fell from between the carpet and the jute. When I looked down, on the floor of the car was the "original" Nissan key with the key code stamped on it. I was so surprised but thought hmmm....does it work? Sure does! All the doors , hatch and most important, the ignition. From the glove box I pulled the original owners manual and the warranty booklet with the warranty card from Winnipeg. Amazing.
I'm going to peel off all the tar pads from the floors and repair the small holes, then cover with POR-15 for safe keeping. The spare tire well as you can see if the original bright 307 Blue from 1974 and it's clean. The original spare tire as well in good shape plus the luggage straps were intact.
I picked up some spare interior parts courtesy of Rick in Tottenham and will be keeping those just in case. All I need now are clean bumpers.
A couple of updated pics to show the discoveries. More to follow.
