Question - CD2 Engine Detailer appears to be difficult to find out on the internet....does anyone know of a supplier that I could order some from? I tried the autozone website and it came back with zero results. Thanks.
  3. The night before the car show at the hotel I had a chance to talk with Dennis at the bar. Nice guy....he asked me what car I had and when I told him it was the lemon/lime '72 out front and one of the 37 program cars he flipped out. He took my cell phone # and called me the morning of the show wanting to possibly do an interview. Unfortunately he ran out of time and never did the interview but he did take a couple of camera shots that are briefly in the show at the beginning. He really loves whta he does (who wouldn't!!) and it shows.

Diseazd, I am speechless......the car came out beautiful!! As the pervious owner of this Z I wouldn't recognize it anymore!! You did a great job.....it helped that you had a very nice car to start with I'm sure. Good luck with it. jtmader

And if Carl was correct in what he told me, you took the top prize.......right Jeff? yes Diseazd....I did take first place at the Convention with lemon/lime. jtmader

On a slightly different note.....for those of us who particpated in the judged show - will we get to see our score sheets? Will they be sent to us? I would like to know what I lost points on. Nothing has come in the mail yet???? jtmader

I to am surprised about there only being 1 stock 240Z in the show at the convention. I pride myself on keeping my '72 Z as stock "as possible". I to have chosen a very few slight modifications (slotted mags) based on personal choice and I agree there were many 240's that should have been entered in the stock class that were most likely in the daily driver class. To bad! jtmader

I am biased to....I have a vintage (1 of the 37 restored z's) 240Z in the lemon/lime color and I love it. It did however take me awhile to get used to it but it certainly is a color of the time and fairly rare. When I was at the convention this year Dennis Gage (My Classic Car fame) saw it and proclaimed that this color was the color to have if you own a 240!! JTMader
  11. The My Classic Car show on the Z's is supposed to air next summer on Speed TV. Jeff M.

That is my rule to....actually I had one of my Z's out on the road last weekend for a short little jaunt with my wife. The rain we had a few weeks back washed away the salt but there is still a lot of sand on the roads. This weekend should seal the deal.....provided we don't get another sn.......I can't bear to say it!!!!!!!!! Jeff Mader Sudbury, MA
  15. 3 come to mind actually.....a Renault LeCar (a tin piece of crap), a Volkswagon Beetle (winter car with NO heat) and last but not least a Datsun F10 (ran OK but UGLY)!!!!
  16. :classic:Living in the Northeast I will be putting my cars away for the winter in the next few weeks. Does anyone have any tricks to help keep those nasty rodents from taking up residency in my car? I have never had a problem but my storage facility is an old greenhouse converted to a garage and I worry that something might happen. Any suggestions that will help keep the mice away is appreciated. Thanks.
  17. I can attest to the carb conversion. I just had my '73 flat top's converted to the round top SU's and the difference is like night and day. This is a Z with only 6,000 original miles and the flat tops were just cleaned and adjusted.....still ran like crap. Z Therapy sells conversion kits so you can use most of the same parts so it still looks stock. Good luck.
  18. Personally I would need to see pictures of the engine bay. Maybe it's been converted to the round tops? Maybe there are some mod's under there....etc..... I am going to hazard a guess at $14,000. Where have I seen this car before? It looks VERY familar.
  19. I just happened to see that a 1973 240Z will be part of the Barrett Jackson auction coming up in Las Vegas. The auction goes from 10/7 to 10/10/09 and the Z will be auctioned on 10/9. It's in lot#319. You will see it if you go to their website. I believe the Speed channel is covering the event. I think it will be VERY interesting to see what it goes for. Any guesses? JTMader

I am experiencing weird gauge readings on my 1973 240Z. This problem is with the temp and oil pressure gauges only. They appeared to be working OK a week ago but now they sometimes don't move at all.....other times they will fluctuate up and down ever so slightly and then stop all together. It's like they are trying to move. I have replaced the oil sending unit and that seemed to work for awhile but now nothing. The temp gauge barely moves at all. I have tested temp and oil pressure and the reading are normal. Any idea's? JEFF MADER 1973 240Z 6,000 ORIGINAL MILES:disappoin
  23. I sold the 42K mile car to Guy and at $13,500 I just about broke even on it ( bought it back this past May). So I really can't complain. The market has changed in the past year as I'm seeing nicer Z's going for a lot less $$ than a year ago. I purchased Randys 6000 mile '73 and have to say it's a blast to drive......that's right DRIVE. I will not put a lot of miles on it......but I buy all these cars to DRIVE and to me that's what's it's all about. Call me crazy but how much less will it be worth if in 3 years if it has 9,000 miles on it vs. 6,000? I don't really think it will be worth less.....hope I'm not wrong!

Only when I let off the gas and coast....I've timing maybe....although the car runs great. Isn't there a "let down valve"....something like that which smooths out deceleration??

Hi - I notice this mostly at highway speeds......when I let up on the accelerator I feel a bucking sensation....it's slight but definitely noticable. Once I step back down on the gas I do not feel it anymore. What do you guys think....Thanks for your help.
