So is the new foam correspondingly more comfortable than original?
  2. Hopefully it's not going to be used for some muscle car fiend's V-8 conversion.
  3. I'm in the process of replacing mine and am going to try and relocate the new one back by the tank based on the push versus pull theory. I will say, it was easy to know when the old one quit 'cause I couldn't hear it whirring away up there when I turned the ignition on.
  4. I wish I was confident enough in the car to make it a daily driver. Unfortunately too, I smell terrible after anything longer than a 20 minute ride in the car. There is a plan, I just need to get promoted. Hard to believe I had a daily driver 260 for 5 years and drove it cross country twoce, the good ol' days I suppose.
  5. Outstanding Dave, wish I could have been on the ride-a-long program on that one!
  6. Everytime I drive, I wonder why there isn't a basic competency test determining whether or not someone is smart enough to drive. There's a test on recognizing signs etc, but not one determining plain stupidity.
  7. I'll be living in Fussa at the AFB, only about a 2-hour drive, and an hour to Sagamiko.
  8. Will there be one this year? It's not like I can go but I'm hoping to return to Japan in 2 years to make it to one.

Japan didn't have 240-260 or 280 designations like the rest of the world did, they just had the "Fairlady Z." As model years progressed the changes to the front and rear headlights and the body occurred on Japanese Z's just like it did on exported Zs.
  10. I'll onuthin a call next week and try to get an update. I think the old fella's wife didn't want to let the cars go or something like that. onuthin is still eyeballing it hard though.
  11. That thing is heinous, no other way to put it. One of many cardinal rules of Z-ownership is that you'll never get the money out of it that you put into it, making it a true labor of love.
  12. I've had a Z since '86, the one I have now I bought in 2000 and had the engine/suspension swapped out in 2002.
  13. It's not a $25K car, but it is a nice car with some nice JDM styling touches and should bring in at least $12-$15K.
  14. Wish I had this problem although with the lack of Skylines and parts stateside, I'd be in deep doo-doo.
  15. The value of those Wats is only going to go up, it's just a function of how long do you hold on to them and how well you take care of them.
  16. Or the Z-specialties alternator with built in voltage regulator? (Shameless plug I know, but it's what I did to help the system out)
  17. I figured it was old, like 20 years, and that was what made it more unique than what you could get now.
  18. Definitely high, but I'm really curious if someone will bite the bullet.

  20. This is an ignition module...right? Electronic ignition for a race motor or a modified performance motor? Has anyone used one like this one before? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-TWIN-POWER-IGNITION-SUPER-RARE-ae86-240z-mr2-4age_W0QQitemZ320038993363QQihZ011QQcategoryZ33578QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. Between drift and donk 16" is oldschool.
  22. I'm pretty sure the article said they were Watanabe RS Type R's. The buildup site link might give the offset.
  23. I'll bet you could have gotten it for $3K acouple of months ago which would have been a steal!
