I spy a z!
Dark blue S30 heading north on I-75 just south of Macon GA the other day, not one I've seen at Z Nationals or in the metro Atlanta region.

What to look for when buying some Mikunis?
How much do you have to spend? That more than anything else may determine what your options are. You can buy rebuild kits from Todd and the manual can be downloaded here or over at HybridZ. needless to say if you're buying used, get them in the best condition you can.

I've got an order in with Todd Walrich, he says turnaround is about 5-6 weeks and he's going to want info on the engine, compression, cam specs etc for jetting setup purposes. 44's on a TWM manifold with linkage and airhorns was $2K shipped.

Back to the Future -- 1971 Datsun 240Z
Durango is an awesome place to enjoy a Z, the drive to Silverton, Ouray then to Telluride is one of my favorites.

Drinks to take on the Road
Are you looking to quench your thirst or provide sustenance? For me water and jerky can take me a long way.

24 Hours of Le Mans on SPEED now...
Kind of a damper on the race with all the cautions and the death of the Danish driver but still alot of fun to watch, can't wait for Porsche to bring it to LMP1 next year.

24 Hours of Le Mans on SPEED now...
Lots of Nissans in LMP2, unfortunately one driver has died in a single car accident in the first 10 minutes of the race.

Video: 2012 Nissan Project 370Z vs 1970 240Z
Is it just me or, for all the effort they put into the 370Z, that the 240 just smoked with an RB26? Put a set of Willwoods and some different tires and rims and I think the 370 loses all but maybe one.

not a datsun, but what is this?
Ford Cortina?

Motivation - or the lack thereof...
Sell it, there's more work there than you're prepared to take on unless you're willing to spend to pay someone else to do it. if you can't drive it and you're not working to make it driveable it's going to get heavier around your neck as time goes on.

Opinions; with pictures
Roll it up to the Mitty this weekend! I have a bias for the slots but the original wheelcovers are turning into unicorns.

Mitty 2013 is this weekend at Road Atlanta
Featured marque is MG, come help all their owners fix their electrical woes and push them onto trailers. There's usually a great turnout although the forecast for Saturday is for rain. 2013 Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty Presented by Mazda: Classic Motorsports

Modified 240z to face 370z in Project 370z Challenge
It seems like the setup will be key, there's a 40 year gap in engineering even with an RB and some goodies thrown in to level the playing field. Keep updating this, I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Caffeine and Octane - March Edition
I need to bite the bullet and make the drive one morning, it's on my list for this year...best free carshow I'll probably ever get to see.

Looking forward to it.

Newb from the southwest
I'm biased towards a 5-speed for road tripping and whatever gain can be gotten in mileage. There's a sticky here or on hybridz that talks about the different 5-speed transmissions and not all are created equal if you decide to go down that path. Where in NM are you?

Newb from the southwest
Congratulations, New Mexico is a great place to own and drive a Z, not likely to rust and you can go from desert to the mountains in 30 miles. I lived in Capitan until I was 17 and really miss the mountains and wide open space. I would say just take a little time and figure out what you want the end to look like. I would argue to start with whats going to make it more reliable then go from there, some 5-speeds are better than others. As for the original color I prefer the original factory color but that obviously limits your options. Whatever color you decide to go with my recommendation would be to make sure the body is as straight as possible and the prep is meticulous since the end result will be in large part a by-product of what happens prior to the paint being shot.

ROLEX 24 at Daytona is on SPEED today!
Well, it was great to see Scott Pruett win another Daytona 24 and you can't argue too much with having three cars on the lead lap on the final lap of the race. It's pretty amazing to see those guys run that hard for that long, the Le Mans 24 is my favorite but this is number 2. It was also really awesome to see so many different manufacturers running in GT, Audi made a strong showing and watching them interview Dr Ullrike is very entertaining.

I watched all the coverage yesterday and we're down to the last 5 hours or so, looks to be a great race.

Anyone know of any Z specialists near Charleston SC?
That's a tough one but I thought there was a Z club in upstate, Triangle Z club or maybe Savannah?
