Trailering my Z from GA. My best friend, roommate at OTS, best man at my wedding and Godfather to my two kids lives in Monument so I'll be crashing in his basement, he's even got a spot in the garage for my Z. My dad is driving up from NM in his BRZ and we're going to do the Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak drive together, hope my 240 can make it all the way up!

After browsing this and the other post on European models I wondered if they had issues with vapor lock in Europe? The front spook or spoiler might help with cooling along with stability.

Got superbrights that matched the lenses. I’m okay if everything is brighter, am hoping it may prevents me from getting hit.

I got a set of MTI TE37 knockoff wheels but they wont fit over the hub/spline in the front. I tried measuring and it looks like it's about 60MM on the wheels I have on the car now, does anyone know for sure what the measurement is?

Anyone know what the early Z rally cars were using for the timekeeping, distance measuring when they ran the Africa rallys? I see a lot of TAG Heuer kits in Porsches, was curious if Seiko made something for Datsun or Toyota.

The Carter and the Holley are noisy, not sure about any other types. The great thing about electric is it works when your battery does, or doesn't. It's easy to diagnose when the lights come on but you don't hear the buzzing in the back. I've seen them mounted in the engine bay too, some of the noise is masked by the engine when its running.

I had a similar problem in Yellowstone with downdraft Webers, summer, 6500 ft elevation. Put a Carter electronic fuel pump to replace the old one which I determined wasn't working and it solved the problem.

Am I the only one waiting for Alan's book to be published to correct the many mistakes made by other authors about Z history, models etc? It's kinda fun in the cheap seats and the peanut gallery but it's still the peanut gallery and the cheap seats. I'm serious, i would pay good money for a book you would author Alan, if you would.

Anyone going? I signed up for Cars and Coffee, they posted they were going to have a corral for Zs celebrating the 50th anniversary.

Here is the only other source I am familiar with that does leather interior pieces for S30 Zs. https://interior-innovations.com/product-category/datsun-240z260z280z/ I've ordered a parking brake cover and a shifter boot from them and have been impressed with what they've done. I like the idea of distressed leather seat covers with vent holes in them, good thick leather to take the wear. One thing I have seen advertised anywhere is a leather headliner or leather sunvisor covers.

240, 260, 280Z leather keychains, leather door pull straps, leather cover for the parking brake, leather cellphone cover, I'm interested in all of this, some of it distressed for the car etc.

Copy that, I'll make my own.

I got the privilege of meeting Bill Reagan after he did this restoration and when the green 240Z he restored was sitting in his garage. I would say this car is well worth what was paid for it and its value will only increase provided it is cared for. It isn't a low VIN chassis but the quality of his work, the documentation he could reconstitute on the car's history plus his own of his restoration adds an enormous amount of the value. He was rewarded for his efforts from the recognition that came from Mr K, Gold Medallion, Franklin mint etc. I hope the car is entered in to more events and recognized even more for the condition it is in and the quality restoration that was done. If there is one that is in equal or better condition, it has yet to be unearthed so this is a worthy "blip" for what it is and what others aren't. BTW The green car he restored sold in April for almost $70K but didn't appear to have been cared for as well nor did it have the recognition, I hope it gets shown at prestigious events because it too is an exceptional build. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-36/

I bought aftermarket and they lasted about a year, bought Nissan 3 years ago and they're still good

If you find any more information on early Zs racing in japan please let me know, I'm curious about their efforts myself.
