  1. Thanks for the info, wishing now I hadn't let the original motor just go without stripping it down, a point I will have to remember.
  2. Then the Brute Force buy mentioned earlier is the answer for you if they can hook the R180 guys up for the previously mentioned price.
  3. You gotta love JDM Fairlady's, so tastefully modified to enhance their lines and performance.
  4. There is no school like old skool. Congrats
  5. Jon, thanks for all the info, it's been an education. I called Reider and they're out of the early R180's so I will get to mull over my decision some more. I don't see the car being over 300hp so i'll probably stick with the R180 unless an R200 falls in my lap.
  6. I have the option of getting an R180 versus an R200. Pros or cons other than being able to use most of the hardware from the R180 in the car now?
  7. I thought a viscous would be better than a clutch based on some threads I had read trying to research the difference between the two and it sounded to me like more people had problems with their clutch LSDs engaging and making noisier than usual noise while driving. After reading the post on hybridz, it sounds like a viscous is the most painful way to go in terms of parts and fabrication.
  8. Arne, why are the rods out of a '73 so valuable?

  10. I'm pricing a VLSD to replace the 3.36 R180 open diff in the car now. Any recommendations on where or where not to go would be appreciated.
  11. I like the '03 Z, but hope the '08 is more than a refresh, which is what the rendering looks like to me.

You're in for a treat, and a Z is way more fun to own than most Hondas.
  13. If you're looking to start or add to your collection, looks like a good step in the right direction. http://cgi.ebay.com/WANGAN-MIDNIGHT-MANGA-VOL-1-16-ANIME-INITIAL-D-240Z_W0QQitemZ160037816520QQihZ006QQcategoryZ3962QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. I've got a set of Konig 15x7's and am contemplating which brand of tire to go with. Trying to sort what's best for me out of all of the advertising seems almost impossible and in the end I guess I'll just have to take the plunge but let us know what you choose in the tire realm and how you like your choice.
  15. Austin, I saw that car at SEZ and it strikes me as a great balance between old school, JDM and new EFI/turbo technology. You've done a great job, hope to see you at SEZ in the Spring.

  18. The car in the video was a 260...and a 350 got pretty trashed too in the accident.
  19. Saw this car at the SEZ shootout and it was awesome. Belongs to 240Hoke on Hybridz.org and it is tastefully done mixing old and new. http://www.tunerzine.com/articles.php?id=188

Bring on the links, I'm interested to see what's out there. Japanese history along with Chinese and Korean are all fascinating.
  21. I was a dependent, my mother was a JAG stationed at Foster and I spent the summer there working for the Facilities Engineering folks for extra money and just soaking in the culture and the experience. I loved it so much I've been stationed at Kadena for 3 years and Yokota for 2-1/2 and am trying to figure out how to get back to Kadena. I distinctly remember seeing two Skylines racing down the expressway from Nago followed a minute later by a FairladyZ police car! There were alot of really neat souped up 4 door Skylines and Laurel coupes but those 1st gen Fairladys were just hot hot hot! Even after I came back I saw a Fairlady a Marine had brought back at Camp Lejeune and wished I had stayed longer on Okinawa to appreciate it more. On a trip to Hong Kong I bought a remote controlled ZX because it was what they had (wanted a 1st gen) but also because I just loved those Z cars. I bought a 260 in '86 and my first 240 in '91 and Iv'e had one ever since.
