  1. Saw it, nice car, need something to compete against BRZ/FRS.
  2. The local Z car club and the local Porsche club both do road rallies during the year. I'll probably do one of those when it cools off again to get some idea of how much organization is involved. I'm familiar with the 90/10 theory (90% of the work is done by 10% of the participants) and am willing to put the time in since there are some great roads and great tracks around here and Fall can be really nice, colors changing and it's cool at night. I've watched the petrolicious video and some others individuals recorded, there's also a one hour show on cable that's come on the last two years about Targa Newfoundland which I don't think any state in America would let run. I'll add the California event to my bucket list although I'd want to take my car which means either driving it or trailering it out there.
  3. Probably overkill but these guys would probably know where to find what you're looking for if they don't have it. Revtec Race Engineering About Us
  4. I've watched videos from Targa NZ and Targa Newfoundland, more than we could probably hope to pull off here but very inspirational.
  5. I think more will popup and petrolicious has a nice clip too. At least the Porsche guys film it. tlorber, anything you'd recommend to someone thinking about getting one going?
  6. There are a couple of Zs in this video, am curious if anyone here went and how you enjoyed it, I'm thinking of trying to get one going in GA.
  7. A search for Kia Sportage on this forum returned two pages worth of results.
  8. Unboxed my header, exhaust kit and carpet setup from MSA. Ordered rear hatch weatherstrip from Precision, crossing my fingers it will be good stuff.

Steve, thanks for the pictures, I've been sharing the link on a couple of different car sites.

I'm getting a room in Franklin NC or north GA, I'm only coming for the Saturday events so I'll just suck up an early morning drive. I met the guy from Macon GA with the ZXR at a local car show last year, he won a trophy, it's a nice car.

I'm planning on pushing the beast up for this, I've lived 6 hours away for nine years and am finally going to bite the bullet. Looking forward to seeing your triples setup too Travel'nman, I got a 44s setup from Todd last year and they're going on this summer.
  12. Looks like you're close to Odaiba, malls, restaurants etc is pretty close, Tokyo Big Site is where the Tokyo Auto show and the Nostalgic 2Days shows are held, there might be something going on there. Tsukiji is a famous fish market nearby but you've got to be up early to get the full experience. You're close to Roppongi too, an afternoon trip may be to go to the Hard Rock in Roppongi for a beer and something to eat then walk past the Russian Embassy to Tokyo tower. There should be a subway station near the hotel and the maps and signs are all in English which makes it easy to get around. I want to say to get to any of the car shops you have to go to the suburbs because in downtown, space is at a premium meaning it's expensive. If you haven't been before, your sense of personal space, economy of space and how much something costs are all about to get a workout. I lived about an hour outside Tokyo for a couple of years and loved it, there's a lot to see, do and experience. Just wandering around, going in shops, office buildings that are malls, looking at hobby shops etc, it's all fascinating...the food can be awesome too and customer service tends to be really good.
  13. Tokyo Tower is a neat way to "see" more of the city. The Zama museum is probably an hour to an hour and a half by train from downtown. Most of the bars frequented by foreigners are in Roppongi while just walking around Shinjuku and Shibuya is its own form of entertainment. Go in the convenience stores, they've got awesome drinks and junk food and try one of the soba noodle places, you can get some good food pretty cheap by Tokyo standards. Where in Tokyo are you staying?
  14. I posted this over on a Le Mans thread but thought it could go here too, at 7:49 and 10:09 you get a glimpse of a Z at the '76 race.

I think the Angeles crest highway looks like it would be more fun than a crowded Mulholland.
  17. Have you been to the website? I think they're open to whoever shows up. ZDayZ 2014

Yep, this thread's over 12 years old but I found a youtube video I thought could only go here. At 7:49 and 10:09 you get a glimpse of the Z running Almost more entertaining than the race is seeing the number of people in the pits during a pit stop.
  19. Seeing that 62 sitting there like that really tears at me.

I remember DDing my 260Z in Missoula MT during winter in college. Had to get a block heater to get it to start and it never would heat up enough to heat the interior of the car.
  21. Wow, really nice car and what a great legacy of ownership.
  22. Yesterday I pulled, cleaned and gapped the plugs and serviced the carbs, today I took my son to Waffle House for breakfast and he and I will likely take it over to a SuperBowl party tonight.

Sorry to hear you've been sick, it'll be great to see you and the cars.
  24. They broke up coverage between TV and online since Speed tanked but I will be more useless than normal this weekend watching the race. Rolex 24 at Daytona | SPEED | The Motors On FOX Blog
