  1. I got a copper washer from the local Parts Plus store. Take your old one along and they can match it. Darrell
  2. What I did with my 1971. I cut a small length of 2"x4" piece of wood and drilled holes in it for the pins. I used a toothbrush to scrub them with soap and water, Then when dry used a fine paint brush and enamel model paint. They came out real nice. I'll have to get you a picture of the hood emblem and send it to you later. Darrell
  3. Dan, Hemmings has a lot of ads for shops that will rebuilt your original pump if time permits. Darrell
  4. John, I live in Reading and have a 1971 240Z. I've owned it since 1976 and replaced almost everything at least once. The wife never liked it. Send me a PM and I'll give you all the details. Darrell

Can I swap an E-88 head onto an engine that now has an E-31 head ? What are the differences besides the cc volumes ? I know this has been covered before but I had no success in getting into the archives. Thanks, Darrell 240Z

Can anyone tell me which side of the car [1971 240Z ] the rear tow hook is supposed to be on ? I had a lot of parts off for painting and do not remember. Thank you, Darrell 240Z
  7. After cleaning all the nuts and bolts, I used anti seize on all the threads as it goes back together. If you ever have to take it apart you'll be glad you did.

I have a 1971 Z and live near Reading. I am familiar with Rothrock and would be interested in a Z Show. Let me know when you have a date. Darrell 240Z
  9. I bought one for my 71 240Z from Advance Auto and did not change anything. I'll try to find the part # and let you know. I think it was approx. $22 a few years ago. They had to order it and I made sure that I could return if it was incorrect. Worked fine. Darrell240Z
  10. I looked at the latch for a long time and was able to figure out how it worked and yes, I was missing some parts. OK now, Darrell 240Z
  11. Does anyone have a picture they can post of the lock mechanism for the hatch? Also, when you press the button to open the hatch is it actuated by a screw pushing down on the lever ? I hope I am making myself clear. I think I am missing some parts. This is a 1971 240Z. Thank you, Darrell 240Z
  12. Thank you, for your help I found 5/8" and 3/4" fuel hose at McMasterCarr. So I'm going to order it from them. I looked up Arne's research and I have a schematic in Wick Humble's book. Darrell 240Z
  13. I am trying to finish this restoration on a 1971 240Z. {3/71}I need these hoses. part # 17238 E4601 and 17243 E4100. Nissan says they are not available. The local parts guy wants to sell me coolant hoses. Does anyone know where I can get either the correct hoses or quality aftermarket hoses ? The part #'s are from the Club CD-Rom. Thank you, Darrell 240Z

Should there be a gasket between the fender and the headlight case ? I did not see one listed in MSA or Black dragon. I used 3M seam sealer between the fender and the headlight case and since it has been painted it does not look good at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Darrell 240Z

I'm going to try turning the muffler and see if that makes a difference. I may go with the Borla if I'm not happy with the results. Thanks for all your help. Darrell 240Z
