I just wanna cry. Any how, I'll take a hatch, fuel tank, fenders and a rear bumper.
  2. Don't you mean how NOT to port and polish a cylinder head?
  3. Julio, if you go here and look at post 41 by Dave, he has pics of them. These are still the same ones (I believe) he has today. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20862&highlight=led+tail&page=2 Justin
  4. They look great, and if I were at that point with my Z, I know I'd but a set for mine. The asking price for these are right considering the time and effort and care you put into your products, IMHO. Justin
  5. I, myself, have an aluminum radiator in my 240z, however, it has an engine form a 280z. My radiator was also leaky, and getting the overheating probs and what not. However, when I did upgrade to the aluminum radiator, I don't over heat at all, even sitting in traffic, with the hot days here. I have the same radiator as Zs-Ondabrain has (Dave), with custom made mounts. But I tell you what, it was really worth it. Now, just for me to replace my heater core hoses.....

Well, normally, I'd say its the beginning of the end, however, with everything that's been going on lately, it doesn't surprise me. Gas prices rising, and predicted to go over $5.00 a gallon, tornadoes, rain, snow, frost and what not in areas to where its suppose to be nice and sunny this time of year. The earth is changing, its mad at us for what we have done, and God is not happy with us. And our government needs to stop supporting the oil companies, especially when they've made over a $10 billion profit in one month, and more after the gas prices keep going up. But wait, a lot of the oil big wigs have a great affect on our government...

    Very nice.
  8. Thanks everybody. I'm good, not sore anymore or anything wrong. The car is still sitting where I parked it last night. The SUV just kept going, that a$$-h013, and there was no one behind him. Again, thank everyone, and I'll have the Z home today as soon as the roads clear up a little. Justin
  9. Well, on the showy night of April 18th, 2008 here in Washington, I was in an accident. Going down a hill in Lynnwood, someone was following me too closely, and I was going about 20mph, and I was not able to slow down in time because of the SUV behind, flashing me with high beams and what not, and I lost control, slid to where the LH side was facing a median, and up I went. I'm thankful the I was only doing as slow as I was, and was able to keep some control during the slide up onto the median. I'll take pictures to where all this happened. By the way, no damage I was able to see right away on the car. However, if I wasn't wearing my seat belt, I would of hit my head on the drivers glass and been K.O'd. My left shoulder and left side of my neck hurts a little right now though. By the way, this happened about 10:30pm at night. Justin
  10. :nervous: Especially mine. :nervous: They were all pointing and were like WTF??? What is he doing here in THAT car. But, it was all fun. Made a few new friends, and had a few people encouraging me in my quest to restore and saving the old Z I have. Dave, emailed you the pics, and I'll let you post which ones you think will be good. Also, keep in mind that my battery died before I was able to take pictures of everything I wanted, I was not able to find my extra battery this morning. :stupid:
  11. Is this car your daily driver? Because if not, Dave on this site can fix your switch for you if your willing to send it to him. Just PM Zs-Ondabrain for more information and to set something up. He's great at renewing these things.
  12. Julio, grats, and its about time on the dispute part, . Glad things worked out for ya.
  13. Even though I'm not going this route with my Z, I have to agree with Dave. And not to mention it just sounds MEAN!!!
  14. Did anyone see the movie last night? Wife and I had a date night, finally after 3 months, and I missed it. If so, how was it? Thank you in advance.
  15. :stupid:duh, yea I was talking about yours. I was more asleep when I wrote that up.:paranoid:
  16. I haven't done this yet, but know someone who has, and have ridden in his car, but I like it a lot. He went with the eibach springs and the konig struts. Total over all lowering is 1", and it handles nice and smooth with a stiff suspension.
  17. OK, well, I'm a little disapointed on how they are using a new shelby cobra mustang instead of sticking with the trans ams. I don't know if the trans ams are still made, but they should of at least of stuck with the pontiac line, maybe using a new GTO or something. But, here is a link if you guys wanna see whats going on. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=124566?mktcat=knight-rider&kw=knight+rider&mktid=ov44507362 Justin
  18. Well, I've had over 10 years experience in the electronics and somputer field. I was going to have one with seabird set up building and repairing their oceangraphic research equipment, and still trying to get in with them. However, I love the electronics field, so any place to where I can get in with decent pay (18 + an hour with bennies), I'm on it. The last place I worked for was through a temp agency, so no bennies, and I took a $3.00 an hour pay cut going from where I was before, but had to leave because of family emergency, to where I was just laid off. I was making $20.00 an hour with full bennies. Justin
  19. Well, I was laid off today, and have to put everything on hold until I find a new, decent job. This is both good and bad, for I was planning on finding a new job to begin with, however, I was wanting to find one, then put in my notice. Well, I'll keep everyone updated with everything. Justin

On these old cars, its not uncommon to have one carb adjusted slightly leaner to get it balanced with the other. Also, do you have a carb sync tool to get the airflow right? And a color tuner would help too.
  21. Dave, sorry to bring up this old thread, but what happened with the crank? Justin
  22. Anyone have any experience with this site? Looks like they provide you with additional jute material for your vehicle. http://www.auto-interior.com/datsun1.html Justin
  23. I've been doing a little reading of jute material, and some vendors offer what's called a "MASS BACK" option, a black, rubberized backing that is thicker and a little more sound proofing than the original jute material. Does anyone have any experience with this? Just a though/suggestion of one of the options that could be used. Here is a link to one of the vendors that offer it. I don't know if its offered with our carpeting kit, have not had a chance to call them to find out. http://www.1aauto.com/help_center/faq/carpet.html#q10 That is the FAQ section of the vendor, and they also offer a carpeting kit for our Zs. Dcraig, unfortunately, I know very little about it. However, I do know more about the MSD systems. I know I plan on getting the MSD 6AL electronic ignition system. It goes for over $200, but it has a rev limiter, and is multiple sparking at RPMs 3000 and lower to ensure complete combustion of the air fuel mixture, and one big powerful spark above 3000 RPM's. I do know that both igniton systems hook into your dizzy for reference for timing and what not. MSD was one of the first to come out with electronic ignition systems, and has been doing it for a long time. Crane cams is just that, they make cams. In my honest opinion, I'd go with an MSD ignition system when you get the money because of this reason. However, for the dizzy from the 280ZX, you can get one from a pull a part for like 40 to 50 bucks when you're ready with that also. I know I'm going with that dizzy and the MSD 6AL because I'm tired of my points floating at the higher RPMs. I hope this helps. Justin
  25. That is an insult to the Z cars, from the first 240z ever made to the latest Z car currently in design, and all of its cousins that stemmed from the 240z.
