  4. To make up a twin turbo for the L24, you've have to make seperate intake and exhaust manifolds for the engine, and not to mention that you would lose power with a twin turbo setup on an inline. I've seen someone try this, and had nothing but bad luck with his inline. And I'd have to agree with red_dog007 about picking up the RB26DETT. Justin
  5. I've been looking at these headers also, however, how would one make these work with a turbo set up? My 240z has the L28 engine in it, with N42 head with 2 SU carbs and stck exhaust manifold from a 240z. I will be upgrading to a P90 head, and I have a turbo intake already. Slowly getting my car to the way I want it.
  6. POR-15 also makes an excellent gas tank restoration kit, and there are also a few others out there. I used the POR-15 on a motorcycle gas tank before, and was very pleased with the results. They even send you complete instructions with the kit, and is better than the "red" coat tanks restoration kits. Also, some radiator shops do this service also. And make sure all your pick up lines/tubes inside the gas tank are intact, or you're car will be dying at about a 1/4 tank or so. Also be sure to replace all fuel lines and hoses, as any corrosion from the tank will also corrode the fuel lines and stick inside rubber hoses after a while. Justin

Its also possible that there is a hole in the fuel linne somewhere before the fuel pump and first filter. I'd go ahead and buy a new pump, keep the receipt in case that's not it so you may return it, and replace any fule lines and hoses that need it. Also replace your fuel regualtor at the same time. Justin
  8. No, they're white translucent also. We're just trying to come up with a way to let more light into the cab of the car, even with the brighter LED conversions.
  9. Gary, I wasn't talking about chrome paint, for I am all to familiar with the look of it. I was talking about actual chrome hobby TAPE you can buy at the hobby stores. It stands up to weather pretty well, and you can even clear coat it, well, back about 12 years ago any ways you could. But they do have that, and it comes in sheets, and it is actual reflective chrome.

Arne, thank you. They just look 13" to me because of the trie size that's there, but you're right, I just looked at them on my last break. And I'm wanting to go 15 or 16 inch rims. Me being in the younger generation, old school to me would be late 80's to early 90's. After all, I was born in 1979...
  11. If I remember right, you want to cut them at the welds and seams so new floor pans can be put in later with little hassle because they, MSA and a couple of others, still sell floor pans and rockers for our z cars.
  12. About the chrome ring problem. I'm going to try this myself in the next month, unless someone wants to try it before me. But you can buy some of the chrome tape from a hobby store, I know hobby town USA has them, and re-chrome them after you've sanded them down. It takes a delicate touch, and I've done this with plastic chrome in the past, and it comes out great. Most plastic chrome now-a-days has this tape over a white plastic piece anyways. I also though about putting this inside the the tail lights also to see if it would give a brighter effect with them, unless someone else has already done this, feel free to chime in EScanlon. And also do a search on tailight restoration, for the thread in here on it has some very good tips. Justin And has anyone found out how to repair the stress cracks in these tail light lenses?

I have a set of these on my 72 240z. However, I believe mine are 13's, I have to double check. However, they are a little too old school for me, and when I'm ready, will be either selling them or trading them for a set of rims I like. I'm wanting to go 14 or 15 inch rims, after I put a better suspension on the Z. I'm thinking KYB shocks/struts with Eibach springs, sway bars and strut bars.
  14. Seeing this brings happy tears to my eyes. Congrats! I can't wait to get my current 240z to street specs, then set up a second for drag racing. I have a grreat uncle back in Ohio who use to reace indy races, then became a pit boss. Now a days he owns his own auto shop, restores old cars and sells them, and does drag races on the weekends. I'll eventually be to where I'm racing, but not for a few more years. Justin

EdMo, Replace the cold start valve first. I talked to a friend with a similar problem, and his cold start valve was bad, it was sticking causing too much fuel and once warmed up, did the exact same thing your was doing. This wasn't on a Z, but was on an 82Toyota Celica. Justin
  16. Will, What material did you use back then? And if I may ask, what material are you thinking of using now? I was thinking of using acrylic or plexi glass (if I remember right, its the same material) and just using vaccum form molds or something similar. Justin
