Maybe a number of models ie. 240,260,ZX, 300,350Z around the logo. And don't forget the normally large members 3x, 4x of the club we usually get discriminated either by leaving out the size or penalizing us by price. Just an opinion.

Bought my 260 new and I never let it go. Bought another last year and took it down to what you'd call a vin number for refresh parts last year. We are both showing our age.

What a classic mix, Zs and the Man show. Put some juggies in my Z!

I bought a nice 260 off ebay and was originally going to use it as a parts vehicle, but some one said they only made 800 of these cars and body wise it is sweet. Is this correct? This is an early 260 with the thin bumpers and it has the original pan from the radiator strut to the cross member. I have it stripped naked all the way to the unibody and before I do any surgery I'm just curious. I don't care for an automatic, my other is a 4 speed so enlighten me. Thanx

I just bought another 260 and the seats had pull over seat covers. Underneath were the vinyl type but with a suede type seat inset and also in the back support area. The rest of the seat fabric looks like my stock vinyl. My question is; was this aftermarket or original? This car is an automatic where my first one is a 4 speed. This one is getting sacrificed to the god of rust repair.

It is funny you asked, just a week ago the 350 was at the same dealership for a showing. I'm kind of a biased older version owner and thought that the engineers had raped an Audi and the love child was half Toyota Avalon. In time I may learn to love this...this well since I can't say something nice I won't say something at all. Thanks for listening. Bill

When in highschool I dated an MG lover and almost ended up with an MGB GT. But as luck would have it I saw the Z in 1970 and started saving my pennies. I ordered a 240 in 1972 and it came in an automatic-no thank you. I went to another dealer and again it came in an automatic and the wrong color. Zs were hard to get on the East coast and there was a long wait. I pulled my deposit again and another dealer told me he won some kind of dealer lottery to show the new 260z. He received 3 at the dealership. He took one for himself, a doctor had pre-ordered on and he offered me the third providing it sat in the showroom for 6 weeks. It was locked up. The wait was excrutiating, but in the end I got to drive it out of the showroom through the doors to the street. How cool is that? I still have this car with only 40k original miles and just purchased another. Gosh I love this car.

First thank you all for your concern. I am retired from the mechanical trades ie. welding, machine work electrical, ac work, electronics... I am the original owner of my Z and have maintained it mechanically since I drove it from the dealer showroom. It has been painted 4 times and not well. Orange peel and inapropriate prep caused the paint to come off in sheets, leaving a 32nd of difference in some areas. I am aware of sand blasting problems and I want to get at as much rust as I can find. So you answered my question in that a piece at a time to the epoxy primer stage would seem apropriate. I have a paint set up and my garage is set up with pneumatics. I would never presume to do a finish paint job even after a trip to the library. I just thought you guys might recommend a brand or a past experience that would help. I actually enjoy working on my car and I have the time. Again thanks.

I intend to strip my 260 and would like a recommendation on strippers- no, the chemical kind. Is there a preferred method? Should I strip a piece at a time and then treat and primer? Bill

I have a 240 plastic? wood grained steering wheel I want to restore. The plastic/wood is oxidized badly but there is no rust or physical damage otherwise. Any tips? Bill

Help please help. I am the original owner of a first 6-month 260Z and although it only has 40k original miles. I need new rubber everywhere. There are master kits for up to 73' and other kits from the last 6 month 260z on, but my question is do the bushings from the later 240 ie. 1973 fit? Bill
