My engine sounds funny.
I had an exhaust leak from a broken bolt in the block of my 240z, to the headers. It caused the same sound. If you can get your hand near the noise, fell for air movement, if you can narrow it down to a loose bolt tighten it up, otherwise like he said above me you may need to replace your intake/ exhaust manifold gasket. Its like 20 bucks and 2 hours worth of work, but if you don't get it taken care of, you'll definetly hear with your exhaust and you loose horsepower.

Fireball Ignition system, wiring??
I figured out that the carb setup isn't going to work with the stock fuel injection harness, so I'm just going to put the stock injection back on the car. However, I did put the stroker motor in my 240z. And I took the distributor apart and can't remember how it goes back together. Anyone have a picture of an electronic (not points) distributor, or one with the fireball ignition setup in it?

Electronic Distributor How do I put together?
I know this is retarded but I don't want to short anything so I'll make a quick post. How do I put this back together? Its an electronic distributor out of my 240z. The second pic shows the fireball igniton wire and mounting bracket. Where does the little ground wire go? And what hole do I place the mounting bracket in for the cable?? Thanks

Fireball Ignition system, wiring??
What if I just forget about the fireball ignition? How do I get spark? Can't I just use the car's original ignition. I have the original distributor that came with the 75 but the shaft is too long, so can I remove the shaft out of the electronic distributor that came with the 240 and put it in the 75 distributor?

Fireball Ignition system, wiring??
Alright everyone- I'm not getting any spark and I can't figure out which way I need to hook up the wiring harness to my coil/ ignition. I removed the engine out of my 240z along with the coil/ ignition/ distributor. The motor came from a 1983 Datsun 280zx its an L28 (non-turbo) It has an electronic distributor not points. So I have an L28 motor from a 280zx going into a 75 280z/ I know its stupid pointless but I changed my mind about selling my 240z and ended up having to use the motor I have. Also, the L28 is now running a triple carb setup, not fuel injection. First question: Do I need to change the distributor to get spark? Or will the electronic distributor work? Second: How do I hook up the coil to the ignition? On the Fireball Ignition there is a red wire that goes to + on coil, a yellow goes to - on coil and a black wire goes to ground. Those are hooked up. Which way do these wires go? And anyone know what these two do? Is one a ground?
