  1. I had the same problem and it turned out to be the physical contact surface at the brake pedal switch . I just put a rubber cap on the pedal side.Maybe mine was to simple.

    Thanks for sharing the information about the engine and the web site.Where would i find out how many 81 hatch backs were made? I think it is becoming a rare car,not that it is a collectible. If any one would like to see some photos ,let me know.One of the little hubcaps came off of the aluminum spoke wheels.Any idea if they are still available?The only other part missing is the electric antenna.It got bent from a low hanging tree so i put a spring loaded type on.I kept the mounting hardware so i could maybe get a replacement or original.

    WE have a 1981 200 sx datsun stick 5 speed which has been with us since new. I have just completed new brakes.new radiator,master brake cylinder,struts.rear springs,shocks, belts,oil pressure sensor,fuel filter,8 ngk spark plugs,rotor cap wires, air filter,ball joints,tyrod joints. All the nut and bolts are still plated.the bottom of the car still has the original paint.We drive the car about 5 to 6k miles per year.I have been searching the web for another hatchback to no avail.This fourm is about z's which is the engine i have.hope its ok to chat. thanks glassman
