  1. Thanks Stephen. AS I've said, accurately; "total rookie", including using this type forum. I have decided to drop the EFI conversion and go with the SUs, as per another thread somewhere (that I'm not sure where it went). I am willing to endure the learning curve to using this tool. Thanks for the patience.

Can someone direct me to the "instructions" on using dry ice? I assume it involves spreading dry ice pellets or popcorn over the area to be stripped, but don't want to "arse-u-me" anything where my z is concerned. I appreciate the help. al

Curtis (and everyone else that contributed), thanks for the wisdom. I was trying to get around the cost and hassle and heading straight into a life-changing nightmare of biblical proportions. The solution was already under my hood. I will rebuild and tweek my current early SUs instead and love my z sooner. Thanks, again.

HansEric; vordan har du det? Sorry for the spelling (?) I spent two months in Norway as a youth (summer of 1980 Loken i holland) Oh, My God!!! Heaven on earth. Love the place, people, everything. Hope to return one day. Best regards from California. al

That is food for thought...thanks. Not for the faint of heart? Because...what, difficulty of making the switch (mechanically), financially, too much kick, what? I've heard it's not that difficult. al
  7. Seriously folks, please consider your words (misspelled or not) before posting. What does anyone gain from calling another and idiot? Or anything else. I also hope that we, as having a common interest (of fabulous proportions), could cut each other some slack. Lsalty, ins't it fnuny how we can raed evyrtihng jmubled up, so lnog as the frsit and lsat lterters are in pclae? al

Thanks, Jon. I plan on keeping the SUs for a while until I'm convinced I made the right choice. My biggest problem is that the SUs are feeding an L28 and I'm not sure they are enough for it. Besides I'm not the greatest engineer. Nice ride. al

I returned from the USAF in '86 and soon after bought my '73 240Z after reading a "Best 10 cars to own" article in a mag (Car & Driver or Road & Track). I was hooked after five minutes behind the wheel (oh, what a feeling-no wait, that was Toyota). Long story short- I still have my z, though I'm working on much needed work to body and soul, I am committed to returning to "active" z-driver status. Considering a conversion from '72 SU carbs to '78 FI. Any hints welcome. al
  10. TOTAL rookie here...please bear with me. I am planing a conversion to an L28 (rebuilding it stock now) and hope to switch to FI from a '78 Z to replace my current '72 SUs. Any hints or possible pitfalls to avoid? I've been told that witing harness is the most difficult part to integrate into my '73z. Otherwise everything bolts on and works fine w/out mods.
