The 240,260, or 280 should easily handle an LT1. We go a little more extreme. I have a 350 H.P. 350 in my 72 240 and it has held up well. I'm about to put a 377 stroker in my 71 240. With the N.O.S. it should crank out about 700-800 horsies. My friend has a 76 240Z has a 406 and with a 200 shot of N.O.S. it runs 10.20's. That is without frame connectors, or roll cage, and on c.v. shafts:sleep:
