Race Spoilerz
Am I wrong or what but is not the front called an air dam because it "dams" the air and pushes it around the sides of the car resuling in less drag from turblance under the car. And the rear called a spoiler because it "spoils" the lift created by the airflow off the back of the car?

History repeats itself....you would think we'd learn!!
Sorry guys but I like sunroofs. I love driving with the windows up on the freeway, but the sunroof open so I do not get all the road nose from the other cars / trucks. I love the running with it open on a cold clear winter day when I am longing for spring. All my cars have sunroof exept the Z and do not worry I am not putting one in . . . but I have thought about cutting off the whole roof. (Yes I know that I will need to add a frame to the car if I do that)

unfreezing locked up brakes for tow. Need help.
My Z had rust inside the caliper pistons which kept pressure on the inside pad of both front wheels. Your easy fix would be to remove the front calipers. On the rear try to remove the drums Good luck

Transporting an engine and transmission?
many years ago I found a 225cu" slant six and loaded it by myself into the trunk of my 66 Dodge by picking up one end, placing a tire under the end, then dooing the same to the other end. I repeated the process untill it was high enough and then rolled it into the trunk. In you truck I would bring some strong rope to tie it to the bed all the way against the cab. The trany is very light just tye it down so it will not move under braking.

I feel like a dummy I should have look where you were from before asking the question.:stupid: On another note I spent my 5th year of life in Germany at Spangdalm (sp) AFB in 1959 and then had a German roommate in college. He is now an eye doctor outside of Ulm.

Newb ? on removing all smog on '72 10/71 240z Series 2
The vapors during fill up may be coming from a broken ~3/4" dia coupling from the filler neck to a vent hose. This was the case on my 71. Leave the vapor recovery lines in place, they are not robbing horsepower and they make the air we all breath a little cleaner.

Tow bar
I had a tow bar on my 71 Dodge Colt that used the same mounting method as the one on eBay. It uses the shear strength of the bottom of the tire well and the shear strength of the tail light panel. So if you have any major rust in these areas this hitch will not work for your car. The one that I had worked very well and I towed a Sunfish Sail boat all over the southern San Joaquin Valley and to Denver Co and back one summe. Total tow weight was ~500lbs and tongue weight of ~50lbs

Suggested price for mag wheels?
If you need shipping boxes just go to your local tire store and get use rim boxes, they will work great with some packing to take up the space from a 14" to a 16" rim

part of the prob with eBay
I have purchased, and sold on eBay. I have only had one bad purchase and one bad sell over ~150 items so I am fairly happy. Before I started selling I decided that I would set up my auctions so the shipping was never a surprise. I did this because it pissed me off when shipping is was excessive. The other thing I do is to have photos lots of photos. Why? Because when I buy something I want to see it. Someone’s idea of great shape may be my idea of poor shape. This is a link to one of my closed auctions; let me know what you think.

Suggested price for mag wheels?
If they are the 6 point rims, on eBay they go from $150 - $250 without tires. If they have the center caps and are polished with no curb rash they cold bring $500 but that is tops. But keep in mind that eBay is up and down and if selling locally they may not be as desirable.

Garage floor advice... (for the Z) :)
I you may want to think about putting in a shallow work pit so you do not have to jack the car up. I did this when I changed the trany on my 620 Pickup. You can see the trench at www.aristata.net/620 it worked so well that I am putting on in my garage. I will be only 18" deep and just wide enough for a Z. You can see it's plans at www.aristata.net/garage2

Make your own Angel Eyes.... really...
Take your pick 1. Adds 1/2 inch to your Johnson 2. You will have more women in swimsuits posing by your car on their spare time 3. Really pisses off BMW owners that paid $1000 for an extra that could be made with $9.50 worth of items from Home Depot. 4. Damit I think they look cool and that is good enough for me!!!

will not pass smog!!!
Does a 78 have a "cat" ? If so it may be shot. I have 92 Saturn and it did not pass smog due the HC being very high ~900. I installed a new "cat" and it dropped it way below passing. Also if your smog pump is not providing enough fresh air your "cat" may not be able "clean" the exhaust stream. FYI The purpose of the EGR valve is to recycle exhaust gases into the intake stream which results in cooler combustion temps which results in less NOx. So unless the NOx readings are high it is unlikely that the EGR has a problem. PS I got a “cat†at Kragen for $79. Good Luck

Fuel Gauge/Dash Help. PLEASE!
I have seen some pre 74 cars with the gauges held in with the straps that come down from the top of the dash across the back of the gage then down to the top of the openning for the radio/AC/etc. The strap is held in with a single phillips screw. I do not know when the mounting changed from the L bracket to the strap.

Need L20B for my 620
Cool, good old Ridgecrest, brings back memories of the Navy showing off missiles blowing things up on Arm Forces Day now known with a softer name of open house. Your offer looks good, but I have found out that in 78 the head switched from a round exhaust to a square exhaust ports. Something to do with the emissions setup. Is your engine’s exhaust ports round or square? Thanks
