NH 1972 240Z in classifieds
From what I understand Robert I think it ended up being too expensive for Nissan to continue and they stopped the program after about 30 or so cars. Some of the older guys on here could probably give more detailed background about it but I think it cost so much to restore one that they didn't make any money. Carl Beck saw this car with the original owner after it came out of the warehouse and he could tell you more probably.

Compression Help
Sounds like my engine results from last month. Mine had low compression in one cylinder, blew blue smoke on heavy revving as well. Additionally, mine was using about 3/4 quart every 700-800 miles and had numerous leaks. My choice was a complete rebuild which is happening now but yours appears to need work done as well. I would look at the cost of a rebuild versus a partial rebuild but I looked at it as a "might as well" moment. I'm having it rebuilt with a new oil pump, water pump, thermostat, timing chain and new clutch. They all worked fine but while it's out we're replacing them. My mechanic also found the front transmission seal bad and leaking and a club member had a newly rebuilt 4 speed for sale cheap so guess what? rebuilt tranny. I'm sure you want help answering your question so you may not have to pay a fortune but if you must do a rebuild (which I'm guessing you may have to do at least a partial) you might be better off doing it once. Good luck in any event!

stub axle
My car's in the shop getting the stub axle as well as a bunch of other stuff done now. A local guy here sells parts at http://baddogparts.com/ and that's where we got one for my car.

Clutch slave cylinder adjustment
I had the same experience when I replaced my clutch slave last year. It felt better when it didn't work. It felt more spongey when I adjusted it to work properly. I got used to it and it didn't give me any problems.
- Is this car worth it?

Modified VZ car on eBay
Carl, I just took it out for a spin last weekend but just around the neighborhood. I have some pics in my user gallery that I took last year. It's going in the shop soon for some minor things but I'll be driving it very soon on warm days. We just had the street sweepers come throught the neighborhood last week and I didn't want her to touch those nasty roads until then but it should be fine now. Thanks again for the help and advice last year when I found the car. I don't post alot but do keep up with the forums especially during "Z season."

New Slave.....No Result
If the Z is a 71 then there is an adjustment do be done on the slave rod. I just replaced mine recently and had to make several adjustments to get it right. I don't quite understand, someone is pushing the clutch pedal and you are watching the rod move but not the clutch fork? I don't see how that can be.
