All I know is that because of a couple light bulbs my car is in peices in the garage. Im still amazed that no one with a 70-72 has ever had to change instrument bulbs, I must have the only ones that burn out. cool So I just tried Sylvania 1891.... too long. More money thrown away. I offered the guy a 50$ bill to find the bulbs.....he was sad to not be able to take my cash. I dont want to upgrade to any LED or nuclear illuminesent bio wave g shock or anything, I just want a few light bulbs.:ogre:

Im holding a Sylvania 57 right now and Im also holding my fuel gauge/ there is NO way in a thousand years that this bulb will work. It wont even fit into the gauge. I cant believe no one has had to replace their dash bulbs without running into this same issue. Dash out, car still apart, '72-Z owner sad.

The pre bent hoses in my 72 are failed. The parts house lists NO parts availability on these parts. Is there somewhere to get these 2 prebent hoses that go to the heater core? Or is there a trick to use normal hose?? Thanks for the help.

OK. Ive got the dash out of my '72. I want to replace the dash/guage lights. I did a search but didnt find a definate answer. I do not want to modify. The book at the parts house says Sylvania 1445 but they are only 1.9 w and the original says 3.4w someone posted here sylvania 53's ???? So does anyone know which bulb I should use without converting to LED's or anything else, just a normal bulb. ????? Thanks.

:nervous:ok well I got frustrated and did something crazy. I sprayed carb cleaner in the slide thing inside the stereo, now it works perfect. WTF? i dont exactly know what i did but im gonna go back out in 1 hour and make sure it still works. ...by the way ALL 3 of the speakers I was using were trash. I cant believe it. what are the odds. ? One even came out of my Tahoe!

OK Im restoring my 72 Z and am having problems with the stereo. It is the original and I get VERY low volume from the rear speaker. It does tune different stations, it does have volume control but it is VERY low...can barely hear it from the front. Ive tried 3 different speakers so Im pretty sure thats not it. Ive put 6 hours into it so far...any ideas?????? Thanks

I am running the water to the carbs, yes. Is that bad? I dont think its running hot. Hmmmmm...... guess I could drive it then shoot the radiator with my laser thermometer????

why only when its running warm on a hot day? if it were a loose hose clamp wouldnt it do it all the time? ......but i will check them all tomorrow////

OK 72 240z. Runs excellent, like new except for one thing. When Im in stop and go traffic and shes a bit warm (not hot) I start getting fuel delivery problems. Its like getting air in the fuel line. Im running just a mechanical fuel pump. Ive looked under the hood out of curiosity to see what is going on and the fuel filter is sucking big gulps of air along with my fuel...even on a full tank of premium. Question: Why is it happening only when the car gets warm?? Where is the air coming from?? How can I fix it?? ...Ive tried 2 different fuel pumps, no change. Is this vapor lock?? Why at the fuel filter???
  19. hey didnt I just see this 240z go for 11,ooo$$$ today??? Not bad. 11k for a 73.... maybe my 72 in 918 orange will do this good. :nervous::nervous:

WTF anyone else have this problem??? '72 240Z L24 took the 4 bolts out of the axle shaft and where it meets the piece I broke,, put penetrating oil on it cause i cant get it apart. is this a hard fix?

  25. So it turns out my new purchase 1972 240z is turning out to be less and less a candidate for a V8 everyday. I say this because I keep noticing how original it is and thought Id ask you purists over here about what you would do. So I think the guys at HybridZ are a bit more into modifying the z's into fire breathing speed machines ( not a bad thing necessarily) than dealing with what I have bought. So here it is. 72 240z/orange. all original, stereo, power antenna, sales slip, warranty book, jack and tools in original plastic, unmodified, original engine/trans, original everything as far as I can tell. Ill try and post pics.... Is it clean enough to keep as original or is it not really a rarity?? Kinda put my V8 plans on hole when I started noticing its condition and goodies. Thanks OK pics too big to post.. 8 meg camera.. how do i post my pics? :stupid:
