  1. Probably not quite what you all thought but look what just became available a few months ago http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/100594/ I just ordered this one last night. $200 from Tower Hobbies http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/100595/
  2. It seems my friends cars made quite an impression on my dad. He just ordered the 4 piston Willwoods with 12.2" rotors for all 4 corners And getting ready to order coilovers!!!! I am so excited that he is taking one of the 240's to the next level :classic:
  3. I honestly believe that the GTR should have a surgeon general's warning for people with heart problems!!!
  4. I had to share a little story from the weekend. My dad and I (diseazd) decided to take the his 72 Z and my 72 510 for a bit of a joy ride. I called up a friend of mine who is building a 510 at a warehouse near the airport and he told us to stop by. The guy is a computer engineer and builds tuning systems with displays for all types of high po cars. He even does some govt work. I apologize in advance as I didn't have my camera with me for all this I will go back soon though I added a few cell photos. That's my dad sitting in the passenger seat When I pulled up I couldn't help but smile ear to ear. The first thing I notice in this mammoth space was a row of cars in one area. I also noticed a 510 in the other area set in front of a rack full of transmissions and motors. The first car in the line was a blue Datsun 260z. This car was dynoed at 500 RWHP. It has a fully built RB26 from an R34 GTR with a single turbo. The 260Z had 14" rotors on all 4 with 6 piston Willwoods!!! It was incredible. I was very impressed with how well everything was executed. Next was a brand new GTR Then some sort of demolition derby Monte Carlo and a 1300 hp 4 cyl 7 second Mazda protege wagon!!!! The 510 in the other space is a rust free 4 door with an SR20 being installed. Power steering and the same brake treatment as the 260z. On the wall behind it were RB engines, RB bellhousings and a number of Z32 trans. The space was large enough to hold 20-30 cars in addition to the full basketball court that is fenced in (inside the warehouse)!!!! After a quick tour, he took each of us for a ride in the Z. Let me tell you...... I have never in my life been so scared. At 70-80mph he was able to break the tires free like we were at a standstill. Luckily enough he was a very skilled driver and the suspension was so well dialed in that we never did end up in a ditch or anything I was screaming bloody murder though. Thought I was going to have a heart attack. Next he takes each of us for a ride in the GTR!!!! That car is a true supercar!!!! The launch control is spectacular. This is the only car I have ever been in that gives you the rollercoaster stomach feeling from a dead start. While driving around the industrial area, we come up to a road that makes a 90 degree turn just yards before a woodline. On the other side of that woodline is I95. About 1/8 mile from the turn he stops. Then floors it. He takes the turn at about 80!!! So fast that when we made the turn we were already going much faster than the 95 traffic. I can't imagine what they were thinking when they saw us. To top it all off as we turned around he asked "Do you want to drive it"? I said "Hell yeah"!!!! I got to drive it for a few minutes and I just mashed the gas and was thrown into my seat. I was mindblown. Even though you can read all about this car..... You truly do not understand until you get some seat time. It is absolutely amazing. I have recently gotten to drive the new 500 hp M5 and a Ferrari 360. Neither even come close to the GTR!!!!!
  5. Hahaha. I like these. Back in the day my friends and I printed up tickets to put on cop cars that were illegaly parked. Unfortunately we were too big of sissies to use them
  6. I have been trying to talk him into Mikuni's on at least one of these S30's for over a year now I love them on my 510!!
  7. What is $200 on a car build? Something to be said about doing the job right. Final product speaks volumes. These are our builds. Any questions? <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/2611722439/" title="IMG_9284 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3008/2611722439_84a7cdb694_b.jpg" width="1024" height="683" alt="IMG_9284" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/2612559530/" title="IMG_9287 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3203/2612559530_d63d3b38d9_b.jpg" width="1024" height="683" alt="IMG_9287" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3448422649/" title="IMG_0368 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3556/3448422649_e128f040ba_b.jpg" width="1024" height="670" alt="IMG_0368" /></a>
  8. Any interest in a measly lil NA 200hp 510 video?????
  9. We don't cut corners. We take em at full speed. If you can't afford to do it the right way now. You save until you can
  10. I would remove the door panel and make sure the rod/linkage is still attached to the back of the door handle on the inside of the door. Sometimes the rod that attaches to the linkage will break free or slip out of the retainer.
  11. I wouldn't necesarily trust the forums. I would talk with the people that actually do this work and know what they are talking about. We need Carl Beck, Geezer and HLS30 to provide their opinions here as well. And please add my L20 and my BMW M52 to the list of engines built by Diseazd. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't replace the rockers at minimum with remans. It's only $200!!!! I agree with my dad as well as Rebello, Wolf Creek, Z doc, Riley Curtis at Lynchburg Nissan and the countless others who will tell you that you should absolutely replace the rockers with new ones when changing your cam. Hell call Isky and ask them..... I also don't understand how you say you "know rockers are not a must" If you knew that with 100% certainty than how can you ask what is needed with the swap? You are also contradicting your own previous post #25 with that claim. You claim in post #1 you don't want to go through all the trouble to be dissapointed. Do it once and do it right. And while we wait, read this taken from http://datsunzgarage.com/ ROCKERS and LASH PADS I couldn’t believe it, but luckily every one of my lash pads’ wipe patterns lined up fine. Even after shimming up .080 with the .080 longer valves, the wipe patterns were fine. Some were biased slightly towards the valve end (more lift), but they were still positioned on the rocker OK. Keep in mind that you will need new rockers arms. Even the slightest change in wipe pattern from this mod will cause damage if you reuse the old rocker arms. In June of 2003 I rebuilt my shaved P90 a second time and added a new cam, rocker arms and lash pads. The engine went from standard mild Z clicking to nearly silent now. I suspect the worn lash pads were causing a bit of noise. I now feel lash pads should be replaced on any new head rebuild. They may look ok, but they wear like anything else, and can add slop into the valvetrain and increase noise. Go to Motorsport Auto or Black Dragon Auto and buy "Modifying Nissan OHC engines", by Frank Honsowetz. Review the section in it about measuring and adjusting your lash pads. While I was lucky, having all this machine work done can leave the valve height a little weird. And if the wipe pattern is off you can destroy your cam! Don't underestimate the lash pads!
  12. Very cool. I tried to add myself and my dad but I didn't have an edit feature. can you add us? We are both at 23231 only 3 miles from eachother Myself and my dad is Diseazd
  13. Love that screen name nahurry A guy on the bimmerforums with a 1000hp turbo 5 series used to have the screen name slow snail
  14. If anyone gets a chance, read the label on an Arrogant Bastard Ale. It always cracks me up. BTW, the skeleton on the dead guy ale's bottle glows in the dark. One time after a long night of drinking, I woke up to use the bathroom and was surprised to see a bunch of glowing skeletons lined up on the counter
  15. At least you Canadians get lots of other goodies. Excellent greenery and even better strip clubs
  16. Sounds like a hell of a deal if it's the original paint. If not... who know's what's lurking under there. There was a guy who approached my father and I at the VA Beach meet. He said he had an all original 240z with no rust in amazing shape. He then continued to telll us it was painted burgundy a number of years back. That's the problem when someone says they have a nice original S30. Most of the time it is far from the description. It is often hard to find the hidden problems under a re-paint unless you really know what to look for. Another member on here bought a car that he thought was straight and it turned out to be mostly bondo and bad metal work underneath
  17. Sierra is my go to IPA when I am broke never had the torpedo.....
  18. The sell Dead Guy at the local Krogers here Good call on the Delrium Tremuns. Definitely better than Noell and Nocturnum
  19. Great thread!!! I am a micro brew whore!!! Love the Family Guy quotes btw!! My absolute favorite beer of all time is Founders Double Trouble IPA 9.4%!!!! 86 IBU (you know a beer is good when they list the rate of the international bitterness unit on the bottle) and unbelievably delicious. 3 of them and you are $hit housed. They are also expensive as hell at $10 for a 4 pack of 12 oz. Second favorite is Lagunitas Maximus which is also about 9% IPA. IPA's are the best!!! I can't drink sissy light beer anymore. Other goodens: Dogfish 60, 90 and 120 minute IPA Stone Ruination IPA Racer 5 IPA Arrogant Bastard Ale Rogue Dead Guy Ale
  20. I agree. The hell with function it looks great!!!
