  1. I thought the link I provided shows they still have the right side. Keep checking local craigslist and the bay. My dad picked up a set on eBay that were in great shape. He got them cheap and the guy was local

  3. Sheesh. What a beauty. I have never liked that color until I saw your car. Now I love it!!!
  4. I figured he may want an extra set he is the Zed master
  5. Les has the stuff you need for series 1. Johnny'O...... $10 savings on the engine paint? Plan on spending your life savings for a series 1 resto
  6. When you are ready to strip it, I prefer aircraft stripper. Spray on, let sit for 30 minutes and scrape off like butter with a plastic putty knife. All the way to metal. Lay down plastic under the area b/c it makes a mess. Don't get it on you either b/c it burns like hell. Afterwards I use a D/A sander and scuff the metal up with 180-220. If the metal is really bad I work my way from 80 gritt but it takes forever. If you can, do one panel on a time since the car is in your driveway. Do the repairs and then prime the panel in etching primer and/or with epoxy primer. After all the panels are done, sand the car down and spray another coat or two of epoxy primer and then your ready for paint. Of course all this would depend on your DIY skills. The most important part of a paintjob is prepping IMO. You must be diligent with sanding and masking prior to final spray. When you think the car has been sanded enough for final coat it means you still need to spend another 4-6 hours minimum sanding If you don't have much experience with cars, you may do what many in your position do and try doing too much work too fast. The cars usually end up as Yard ornaments. Patience is key with painting. I have been doing paint as a hobby for about 5-6 years but am not an expert. I have been talking with a few local pro's for years and have used their advice to hone my skills. There are others on here that do paint as a career I believe and will most likely chime in. Please tell us a bit more about your experience with cars and your budget. It would also be great if you let us know what kind of tools you have access to. That will help members give you the best advice for your skills, budget, etc.
  7. Didn't JDM cars have the door mirror as well? If so, why not get a JDM mirror?
  8. I post using html b/c I thought posting them here could overload the server. besides you can post larger pictures if you use html.
  9. I would be careful when cleaning with laquer thinner. It may gum up old vinyl or plastic. Fast evap de-greaser or rubbing alchohol would be better to remove old residues.
  10. Just an FYI. I know most people use photobucket to post pictures but unfortunately many people are blocked from their work computers. If you use flickr.com to post pictures they will not be blocked. We are still blocked from flickr.com at work but if anyone uses html codes, the flickr photos will show up when they are embedded where as with photobucket they are still blocked and will not be viewable. Flickr is part of Yahoo. Just a thought as flickr is free for basic accounts and much easier to use IMO. I liked it so much I upgraded to pro and now have around 4000 photos hosted online. Just my $.02 Brandon You can see an expample of how my photos/sets are setup here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/sets/
  11. Found this in the attic today. I forgot I had this. Link to all http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/sets/72157611458845626/

  13. red car is photoshopped. Here is the engine bay and the rear
  14. Sexiest S30 on the planet IMO. Have you seen the engine bay in that car? Unreal!!! Probably $50-75k under the hood alone!!! The red is just a photoshop. I have had that pic on my computer for many moons It looks like the grey from the R34 GTR
  15. I use SEM and spray through my detail HVLP gun. Terrific stuff!!!
  16. Don't the early vented hatches also have the defrost lines opposing? i.e one vertical and the other horizontal? if so, I suppose only a concourse judge would really pay attention to that difference anyway
  17. I don't have a Z "yet" or any decent photos inside the garage but these are pix of what resides in mine Tomohawk. You must be kidding about the F-14's. If not you are my hero
  18. You can still get hood and fenders from Nissan. For what it's worth, our body guy has had experience with Wolf/alpha and does not like them at all. I don't think he cares much for the Tabco either but he prefers them to Alpha.
  19. Geezer.... PPG DP90LF is what I use for epoxy Great stuff!!
  20. I have always been told by the pros I consult with that you should use etching primer on bare metal followed by epoxy primer for best rust prevention and adhesion for the base/clear. That is how I have always painted bare metal.
  21. Haha^ That's exactly what happened with me. Well worth the time and money IMO. Now the bay looks as good if not better than the car. I imagine if I was ever to sell her, the engine bay refresh would net me an extra 15%+ on the sale.
