  1. Jon, I honestly don't think it has anything to do with being different. The younger crowd likes cars that are low. I don't see anything wrong with that (although I despise the stretched tire look!!!!). Sure it may not be that functional but that's how we learn. I am 31 and did some really stupid things when I was younger. I will probably still do many stupid things in the future. I bet many here did the same I know my dad spent some of his wedding money on Koni's which beat him to death back in the 70's. The things we do to make out cars look good..... Look at the folks who cut their springs. I would argue that lowering a car almost always makes it look better if nothing else. Too low maybe not so much but it's all in the eye of the beholder. I dropped my 510 as low as the coilovers would allow and drove it like that for 2 years with no ill effects (w.out bumpsteer spacers) I loved it. I also didn't race so I wasn't concerned with the perfect performance setup. My BMW is lowered 2 inches also and I love it. It's been that way for 5 years now. I may even get coilovers eventually and go lower. My dad's lime Z is pretty low as well and it's also the one that gets most of the best comments. Most of these guys with the slammed Z's don't track them nor drive them hard. If they do it's mostly for drifting which is the autosport for the younger generation and has a huge following while generating a ton of income for various drift related companies. Your parents generation probably shook their fingers at you when you were young too Lucky for us we only have to look at them (even if many look on in disgust )
  2. Sweet Small world. I am a sucker for wagons!!! My dream is to build a 2003 BMW E39 M5 wagon. Would be one of only 4 in existance.
  3. I like Yuta's car better with the burn marks Out of all those cars, I think I like this one best. Love the color!! http://fatlace.com/slammedsociety/events/word-up-yo/attachment/p1140462/
  4. A while back I saw an S30 online in a medium blue/grey color. It was one of the best colors I have ever seen on a Z. I thought it was on this site but can't remember for sure.

  8. Spent some time with photo mode and uploaded my pix to flickr. Here are my favorite shots I have taken from the replays so far. You can move the camera wherever you want and even get up close with ultra wide angle!!! <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5232038042/" title="Toscana (Tarmac) by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5082/5232038042_57d61cfbe5_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Toscana (Tarmac)" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5232038038/" title="Toscana (Tarmac)_1 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5130/5232038038_f30d45490a_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Toscana (Tarmac)_1" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5232038034/" title="Toscana (Tarmac)_2 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5048/5232038034_8b2ec4e41e_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Toscana (Tarmac)_2" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5232038018/" title="Nürburgring Nordschleife by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5046/5232038018_149a835585_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Nürburgring Nordschleife" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5232038014/" title="Nürburgring Nordschleife_1 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5003/5232038014_3c927b3a8b_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Nürburgring Nordschleife_1" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5231450235/" title="Tokyo R246_3 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5121/5231450235_ec122ffd92_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Tokyo R246_3" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5231450229/" title="Tokyo R246 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5166/5231450229_22f3370507_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Tokyo R246" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5232038046/" title="Tokyo R246_2 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5001/5232038046_d1b3ba0411_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Tokyo R246_2" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5231601477/" title="Ahrweiler Street_5 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5289/5231601477_db122f1194_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Ahrweiler Street_5" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5231601479/" title="Ahrweiler Street_6 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5008/5231601479_edb0939181_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="Ahrweiler Street_6" /></a>
  9. I feel like Wayne has lost his mojo these last two seasons. I can't remember the last time he made money except for the Cobra.
  10. I have been spending more time doing this lately than playing the game!!! it's amazing. You can pause your replay and select b/t 2-12 camera angles. Then you get all the real DSLR camera settings. You can capture some wicked drift shots!! You can also select scenic locations like the ones in this link and position your car wherever you want. http://flaviendachet.blogspot.com/2010/12/gran-turismo-5-photomode.html
  11. I can't believe in the article it says he drove 4 hours to the shoot. Must have been a rough ride. Although I have to admit, my best friend's Lexus GS300 is slammed to the ground with coilovers and it rides great!!
  12. This may be a re-post. My apologies if so. Saw this Z on another forum. Not very practical but looks great IMO. I love the stance and the wheels. My kind of S30. http://fatlace.com/slammedsociety/hellaflush/miguel-soria’s-260z/
  13. GT5 is on the UPS truck for delivery!!! WOOOHOOO!
  14. I think I skipped school for a week when that one came out Shh... don't tell the ole man. Too bad I can't skip work for a week. Since he and I work together.
  15. 1 or 2 semi trucks loaded with $1mill in GT5 games were hijacked in Canada this weekend!!
  16. Cheapest place I found the bulkpacks is eBay. And yes, putting it on the doors makes a huge difference. You don't need to cover them completely just try and get as much as possible.
  17. My friend works in the video game distribution industry and he was just at a Walmart and saw the GT5 boxes locked up in the back
  18. I would actually prefer the one without sound. How much is crazy money in US $?? This reminds me of my dream model kit. The Pocker 1/8 Ferrari F40. They have the super detailed transkit which something ridiculous like 3000 pieces. The model and transkit are like $2-3k together. Here is a link to the finished F40 http://www.scaleautoworks.com/transkitfinishedphotos1.html
  19. OMG I love it!! This is right up my alley.
  20. I bought one on the bay and gave it to my dad (diseazd). It's now right in front of the 4 post lift
  21. Yup^ It's about 1/2 price. But color matching is really tough with Omni. The clear seems more prone to orange peel from my experience.
  22. Looking good. Nice choice with Devilbiss. I have been painting as a hobby for almost 7 years now and the gun makes all the difference!!! Logan's.... If it's within your budget I highly reccomend PPG. I have only used Omni and PPG and PPG blows Omni out of the water. That being said, if the budget is limited, I would use PPG or equivalent for the base coat and Omni for clear. PPG is much better for color matching.
  23. I did the entire interior of my 510 with dynamat and loved it. So much so that I just did my BMW as well. Now the BMW is super quiet on the highway. Although I did it more to eliminate squeeks and rattles and just installed a whole new stereo system. For an original restoration I would stay away from dynamat but if you want to reduce noise, it's the only stuff I would use.
  24. Boo^ Don't listen to him... The sound is absolutely perfect
