  1. $279 for my 510 at $12k with 1 speeding ticket in the last 5 years. Not bad at all. If your car is totalled they said they will write you a check for $12k. If damaged.... no deductible and they WILL replace mods!!!!! Edit: Road side service too!!!
  2. How are they on claims? Maybe I should do this with my 510. My insurance premium sucks and I am 30 with a good record.
  3. I would get other quotes as well. I have never had a breakdown like that and I have shipped cars 4-5 times. Still seems high to me.
  4. I would estimate $1300-1500 for shipping from NV to MA now that gas prices have come down a bit.
  5. Yeah baby!!!! Dead sexy. Can't wait to see your dyno sheet
  6. Rich, On a side note, your car is absolutely gorgeous!!! What a great example of a safari gold!! Your dad did an excellent job of maintaining the car if that is it in it's original glory on your user gallery
  7. I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the Dodge Envi could be the car if the Co. makes it through all this crap. Not my cup of tea but still very cool and definitely a game changer if executed properly. http://www.motortrend.com/future/future_vehicles/112_0809_chrysler_envi_electric_vehicle_plans/index.html
  8. Probably been replaced or re-painted in the last 30+ years. You can still get the decals so no use worrying about it. Unfortunately I just can't remember where My dad ordered them for all of his cars. I am sure someone will know and post before I can confirm with him.
  9. Wow!!! Can't see the before at work but CAN see the after. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise
  10. The more and more I think of it, the more I think you should just stick with engine degreaser and simple green. Just go through the process a few times. I worry that some of the more harsh chemicals will do more harm such as lifting old paint that may be flaking and possibly damaging any older aluminum parts etc. You can't expect 33 years of dirt and grease to just come out looking like new. Take it slow and clean up/paint parts as you go. It will turn into domino's. Once you get a few parts looking like new, you will realize how dirty the rest is and keep going until the whole thing looks new That's what I did with the dime
  11. Yes that will work^ But be very careful as some wheel cleaners are acidic and will damage aluminum i.e. valve covers etc. I would just use simple green and let it sit for a bit. Then scrub away. It will take a while but short cuts generally aren't a good idea.
  12. Do not use lacquer thinner on your 33 yr old paint please. It will damage it. That is what I use to clean my paint gun and remove all paint residue not to be used for cleaning your engine bay.
  13. My dad noted the guy is in VA. He is in Loudon county. Does anyone know the owner?
  14. That is very well done. Car looks great in yellow!! I am suprised the camera man got behind the car for the burnout. Classic way to crack the camera lens from flying debris and if this is a true HD camera......
  15. Yowzas!!! That does look like a deal
  16. You can still get new hoods from Nissan. Call Courtesy Nissan for Datsun parts.
  17. Don't be surprised if it's $100k for shipping
  18. Also looking at the picture of the interior posted earlier by lonetreesteve. What is going on with the rear hatch weather stripping? Is that adhesive or paint peeling? Regardless doesn't look up to par with the typical VZ cars we see here.
  19. Yeah if you watch a machine shop do this, you will be blown away how easy it is. I made a piece that holds it out of the shop vac tube extension. I cut away two sections on each side for the ears to sit on. Then knocked it out with a large socket.
  20. Sometimes you have to be abrasive to get the point across. My thoughts are that if someone can't take the time to articulate the problems they are having in a consise coherent way that we can understand.... then how could that same person expect someone to take the time to help them in a respectable manner?
  21. Please use punctuation!!! Your posts make my eyes & brain bleed!!
  22. Chuck sent us 2 more update photos today. He is rolling now. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3463959854/" title="DSC00091 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3509/3463959854_d19eb3f030_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="DSC00091" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3463959346/" title="DSC00096 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3600/3463959346_eb081ee884_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="DSC00096" /></a>
  23. Final work is being done replacing the passenger dogleg. After this she will be blocked and ready for final paint My dad and I ran into each other downtown this past Sunday and took a few photos of the two 72's. He took the last two photos of his Z with my camera. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3460388877/" title="DSC00058 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3533/3460388877_ac345cb6c9_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="DSC00058" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3460389233/" title="DSC00089 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3499/3460389233_d494a5be29_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="DSC00089" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3456469160/" title="IMG_0451 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3662/3456469160_313b834032_b.jpg" width="1024" height="683" alt="IMG_0451" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3455608871/" title="IMG_0447 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3571/3455608871_6d0a5834b5_b.jpg" width="1024" height="683" alt="IMG_0447" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3456467664/" title="IMG_0449 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3575/3456467664_9a25a02b94_b.jpg" width="1024" height="683" alt="IMG_0449" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/3456473206/" title="IMG_0456 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3570/3456473206_e1651b2fa6_b.jpg" width="1024" height="683" alt="IMG_0456" /></a>
