  1. Nice to know you're sticking around Dave. We haven't meet, but hope to sometime in the future. Your opinions on my car would be greatly appriciated some time. This is more than a car community. I know I rarely post and go long stetches between log-on's (extremly busy), but I do value this site as one of my favorites and love the info gathered here.... Hope to meet many of the Pacific Northwest Z community sometime as I haven't met anyone around here.... Sit back and have a cold-one Dave. We enjoy your company....

So true. How they are/were stored is big factor in worth. Would love to see more information about these two cars....

Datsun? What is this that you speak of? I hope they don't water down the name. I like the name having a bit of mistique to it....
  4. Welcome to the site hagdog. I too am a long-time Datsun owner as well has bimmers.... The 70's were fun times for sure....
  5. Welcome to the site Paul, I have to agree, that was a great write-up! Love reading about others cross-country trips. They are trips you will never forget. I sure love the trips I've taken....

Haha, "what did the five fingers say to the face......SLAP!!!" 69k? Yeah, sure, you betch ya.....
  7. Thought about digging the car out of the garage and begin to awaken the Z, but those thoughts quickly turned into honey-do's. After 20 years it's starting to look like I'll never have "MY" time or frankly, "ANY" time for the Z....
  8. Beautiful car. Good luck with the sale. Hope you get what you're asking and if not somewhere close to it. I'd buy it if I had the cash. Good luck oemz....

Well, if I was to replace all my tires (19") with what is currently on there now it would cost me 1600+ all most $1700 (over $1700 if you add in mount/balance). The rears alone (285/30/19's), quoted from Tirerack, are $449 a piece. Granted I will not be going with these this time around, but it will still cost me over $1100-1200 for all four.... BMW M's use only Castrol 10W-60 synthetic oil (BMW HIGHLY recommends not to use any other), which is over $11 a quart; I need 6 quarts. Oil Filter will run me $20, Cabin Filter $60, etc... The dealer quoted (granted I will not be buying these parts from the dealer, but the auto stores aren't much better on price) $29 a piece for spark plugs (6 needed) :cross-eye I have at least 2 coils that have gone bad, which the dealer quoted me $70. I may need 2-3 or more. Not sure until I open it up and test all (6 total). BMW had a Service Bulletin on these too. I may need to change them all. O'Reilly Auto Parts has them for almost $40 a piece. So, 40x2,3,6 = $$$ or 70x2,3,6 =$$$$$ Yikes! My BMW will cost me an arm and a leg to upkeep, but I knew that going in. I've owned this car for almost 9 years, which just last year the warranty ran out. Under warranty even oil changes/wiper blades were covered. They even replaced my $150 battery for free when it went bad last year, so for the first 9 years the car didn't cost me much at all besides new tires etc... After warranty it’s a whole different animal…. P.S. BMW want over $2000 to do a Service II (2nd major service) for the M. Good lord!! I’ll be doing most of the work myself. The only thing I may need help with (BMW or friend) is the valve adjustment, which requires a shim kit and BMW magnetic tool. Peeps on the BMW forums are selling their USED kits for $350 this includes replacing any shims that were used. My head hurts now!!
  13. It would be cool as hell to drive up to the dealership in a vintage Datsun 240z to buy it's youngest sibling the 370z.... Congrats on the purchase. Beautiful car....

I know the feeling. I had a bird cage sitting on a stand in the garage near the M. Didn't think it was close enough to cause any damage, nor did I expect and damage to happen.... Just then my 5 year old come running out of the house and BAM! Hits the bird cage, causing it to fly off the stand and proceed to slide down the side of my car. I watched the horror all in slow motion. I was yelling, "noooooooo" and trying to catch it but it ended up hitting the car, putting a 3" + scratch down the side of my door. I felt like s#!t for a week. I still need to try and buff it out....\ P.S. Once the warranty ran out on my M I cry when ever I need to purchase anything for the BMW. Parts alone for an oil change is $120. This is just for the Oil and filter needed. I always pre-lube up when I need to go the dealer, because I know what's coming next.... *EDIT* typo....
