Dotsun problems
Are you serious? I would suggest making sure you know what you are doing before trying it out first.....

My Z was used in a movie.
code3z stated the title at the beginning of his first post in his thread.... Sorry to hear this happened code. With all the people involved in movie making and being the vehicle didn't belong to anyone of them. I am not to surprised special care was not given to your car while in their care. I agree with Oiluj, I would have demanded something in writing (photo documented) about making sure it is returned in the same condition as it arrived. Hindsight is second nature on our part, but I am sure you would do things differently if given a chance. Can you go back to them after-the-fact or is it a done deal on your end? Good luck getting the car fixed back to your liking. I know I would be bummed out if happened to my car....

Vented Service Doors
I've had my service doors louvered for over 20 years. I think they look great....

1972 240z
That, in itself, is worth buying the car for. Buy it and don't look back. Make it a daily and don't part it out. It's worth fixing up....

Anyone try Fuzions?
I bought a staggard set of 245/35ZR-19 General Exclaim UHP and 275/30ZR-19 General Exclaim UHP XL for my M3 and they handle great. I would say they far from suck. Maybe it is just because they are ZR rated, but I love the tires. They handle just as good as my PilotSports and Conti SportContact did, but last a lot longer....

Panasport Wheel Weight
I would love a set of Panasports for my 240....

1972 240z
Elliot, IMO that car is worth every bit of 1k. I would buy that car in a heartbeat for a $1000. How is the dash. Hard to tell from your photos, but the dash look pretty decent too.....

Wish I could have such luck selling on eBay!
I couldn't agree more. Very well stated Steve.....

What came with my Z
Very nice! They would look very good on my Z, what with all the chrome and all....

What came with my Z
Sweet! I wish I still had all that stuff. However, those garmets are so cheaply made. They frayed and came apart at the seams very easilly. They just fell apart. You have to take really good care of them just to make them last. I wouldn't even think of wearing it today....

What came with my Z
I'm not sure if it is dealer specific, but I do know I had the same jacket that came with the car from Downtown Datsun. That would be pretty cool.... There was a Downtown Datsun mechanic that was pretty heavy in the racing scene. He helped the PO (family friend) build the car for the stock box racing class back in the day. Those were fun times. That was a great dealership. I miss it….

What came with my Z
Exactly. That's where my car was purchased in 1972. Long since gone (the dealer that is, the car is still here)....

What came with my Z
This is the same jacket I had. I also had one that was all blue with the red and white stripe down the sleave and collar if I remember right.... I wished I still had mine....

What came with my Z
I have (had) the same windbreaker. I had mine in the attic for some time and when I retrieved it it began to fall apart. It is very thin and the jacket just dried up. I did remove Datsun patches though.... My jacket came with the car when new as well. Was this car purchased at Downtown Datsun (Seattle)? Anyway nice collection of parts. The additional parts are always good to get with the car....

What did you find under your seat?
I found about $1.50 in change, four of my missing flat head and Phillips head screwdrivers (lost over 20 years ago and happy to be reacquainted), one old 10mm open ended wrench (partly rusty), one golden stud ear ring, and my long lost intermittent windshield wiper devise that I never got around to installing…. Best of all there may be more. I haven’t yet pulled all the foam padding and jute….

barby27, if you don't mind me asking where did you get all the powder coating done at? Was the place you had the work done very expensive? Have you had any frame rail or floorboard(s) redone? I am just getting my "72" out of a very long storage and am in need of some direction of reputable places to seek work, information, and help. Thanks in advance. You can PM me if you want..... P.S. Very nice job on the powder coating of your Z parts. They look fantastic…. P.S.S Sorry for the temp hyjack Surfsup....

New 240Z Owner
First of all, congratulations on one of the finest S30 finds I've seen in some time. This car is perfect. You're a lucky guy.... Second, do you think you could let me in on some of Carl's advise to reawaken a car that's been dormant for a long period of time? I am just getting my car (72 240, 98k) out of many many years of garaged mothballs and I would be very interested in Carl's advise for getting her going again.... Again, congrats and thanks. Happy motoring....
