  1. $10k for an aussie-delivered MR30 sedan?
  2. That looks like it might be a lot of work to bring back from the brink...
  3. Babalouie posted a post in a topic in 240K Skyline
Nah mate you want this car from http://www.classica-y.jp/ You'll need $155,000 tho
  4. Sorry Alan a man with your Nissan/Prince credentials needs to roll in something with a decent number of cubic inches: 6.3L should tow your car quite adequately...you may of course have to marry someone in the japanese royal family to obtain access to that...
  5. 390 means 390 cubic inches, and I think it was 320hp or something. Here's an article on the Mustang...seems that there were only 4 made plus some Torinos given the 4x4 treatment http://www.ponysite.de/fmcog/isis/ferguson/fergusen.htm
  6. There was also a small run of 67 Mustangs 390GTs with Ferguson Formula 4x4 too.
  7. Thanks Sulio!
  8. Hey Sulio, would that be a wideband sensor in that kit?
  9. I think the 4x4 (and ABS!) Jensen Interceptor was only a very limited edition called Ferguson Formula, but I think the great, great majority of Interceptors are rwd.
  10. The whole thing is on youtube (if we're talking about the same documentary) But when we posted this on GrandJDM, the documentary was somewhat heavily criticised as having some significant factual inaccuracies. Well enjoy it anyway

That happened to me too, exactly the same symptoms. This is the reaction disc that xray's talking about: It's the striped #18 thing in this diagram. It's a 6mm thick rubber pad that goes behind the plunger here as it fits into the booster. And you can see that it's a round rubber pad sitting in a little well inside the booster in this pic. Remove the master, and feel inside the booster with your finger, that's what I did and hey presto...there was a little rubber disc resting at the bottom. Replacing it made the pedal nice and firm again but you might have to take the booster off to do it.

Wah, that's one serious restoration abang

The advance shaft didn't spin on the main shaft very easily Very crudded up Clean everything with a scotchbrite Grease me up woman, I'm going in after this the advance mechanism was much smoother to turn by hand, in hindsight I think it was quite notchy before Reassemble... Bung back in the car... I think it advances a bit smoother...still has that little dead spot just off idle, but it seems to come on a little earlier. Timing is 17 at idle which seems to relate to 32 max. Before: After: I'm pretty sure it isn't my imagination, but it does seem to advance a bit earlier and smoother...not a massive difference but I guess we'll see when I drive it next.

Tonight was dizzy rebuild nite and I thought you guys might be interested in more details on this weird distributor. First I took off the dizzy and it was pretty grubby inside. Then I took off the vac advance pot thing Then the breaker plate Odd looking advance mechanism....but someone's already removed one of the springs in Japan to get it to advance quicker Tap out the spring pin with a punch and gently pull the whole shaft and advance mechanism out.. Pretty grubby inside The old grease has long ago dried up and it was all very stiff

Well it looks real similar to the E12-80 module, just 2 spade terminals with B and C on them. No other electronic input...and mine seems to retard the timing just off idle all my itself without any computer input

It's a Nissan distributor alright, here's a few more angles Pedestal neck looks like it's the 240Z type rather than the E12-80 type tho. I think it's from a JDM C210 (78-80) Skyline, with the injected L20 six....

Does this look right to you guys? I've got pretty poor driveability at low rpm, and I think maybe this might have something to do with it. Base timing is 15degs, but you can see that off idle it seems to retard (!) about 3 degrees before going all-in at about 2800rpm. I think it's a C210 Skyline distributor by the way, looks very much like an E12-80 but has a J-105 Mitsubishi module instead. Vac advance disconnected.
  18. Magnesium wheels will weaken with age and crack. As to how long this takes to happen, it depends on the wheel. That's why that watanabe is on my wall as a cord reel....after using it for a few years cracks started to develop and it's not safe to drive on anymore.
  19. That's really very nice....got any plans for it? Would make a nice cord reel for your garage wall
  20. What's the name of the store and does he have a site?
  21. Awesome show! I was supposed to be there but things didn't work out So it's great that you took so many pics
  22. Tell 'em about the drop bears too. Lethal creatures.
  23. http://www.d1gp.co.jp/schedule_ticket_2008_1_ebisu.html You're in luck, the next round of D1GP is in Ebisu at the end of March. Ebisu is a little hard to get to though. It's maybe a 2hr train ride north of Tokyo, but the station is quite far from the circuit. You can catch a taxi from the station to the circuit, but getting back at the end of the day will be a nightmare. You might have to take the plunge and get a rental car but that's going to be quite a big adventure in itself Or find someone who is going and hitch a ride with them.
  24. I think those are all the shows that are on in that time, but the Shizuoka show should be a really good one. Also you're in Japan in cherry-blossom week too (last week of Mar/1st wk of Apr) which will be super cool. Miatas are easy. Car Make Corns is in East Tokyo at Edogawa: http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~corn-s/ It's maybe 10mins walk from Ichinoe station, which is on the Shinjuku Line. If you want dress-up and light tuning stuff, they got a bit of everything. www.joyfast.com and www.rsaizawa.co.jp are both in Yokohama, but they're both workshops rather than retail outlets for the usual MX5 dressup trinkets. As for 240Z shops, I'm sure there'll be a few in Yokohama, let me get back to you
  25. Not really sure where Sagimahara is...I think it's close to Yokohama? If so, then you're pretty close to Tokyo, and some of this stuff might be relavent: http://grandjdm.com/2007/08/13/so-you-wanna-go-to-japan-part-1-getting-around/ http://grandjdm.com/2007/08/15/so-you-wanna-go-to-japan-part-2-where-to-stay-walkin-around/ http://grandjdm.com/2007/08/18/so-you-wanna-go-to-japan-part-3-cars-cars-cars/ http://grandjdm.com/2007/08/22/so-you-wanna-go-to-japan-part-4-reflections/ But you'll find that Yokohama/Kanagawa is more of a "car place" than Tokyo is, so there are more tuners and workshops there and there is more of a car culture. In terms of specific things to see, it sounds like you'll be in Japan during the Shizuoka Nostalgic Car Show: http://www.nostalgic.co.jp/shizuoka.html I would say that you should NOT MISS THIS I don't think it's too far from where you will be so there is no excuse for not going there and taking a few thousand pictures I think you might still be in Japan for the JCCA Classic Car festival at Fuji Speedway: http://www.jcca.cc/event/2008/jamboree/index.html Here's a teaser from last yr's event: http://www.jcca.cc/event/2007/jamboree/result_P68_75.html I think you should be there if possible Keep an eye on this: http://www.hobidas.com/blog/shop/mooneyes/ for upcoming hot rod/street rod type shows. There's a lot to do and see I think you won't be bored. As for shops, tuners etc to visit, you're not that far from Kameari Engine Works (www.kameariengineworks.co.jp) in Saitama and um...gosh I could go on for a little while What sort of stuff did you want to see?
