E-tek RACING '71 Parts Car Resto
It does look great. I guess the car wasn't a California car. Lets see pics of the 56 Chevy you finished.

Roof Liner, Header Liner and A Pillar Vinyl Installation
Looks very good. I started the install and realized I was missing the pinch weld protector. I threw it out when I removed the old headliner two years ago thinking the new headliner would be supplied with new one, wrong!. I ordered new one, thank god for Google. I don't remember how things got done in the past without Google. I guess we were slow and inefficient.

Synthetic Leather Seat Covers on Ebay
The material looks really nice, but the gap between the back and seats looks off. Is the seat complete?

Newb's UPDATE 280Z search results, with pics
Its going to cost him a lot more then $2K to make it something he would be proud of. The rust on the floor boards is an indication of whats hiding with in. RUST! Stay away from this car. Even though he a fab shop, you are going to have to pull everything off the car and start replacing piece by rotted piece. I don't think this Z is worth saving at this time. There are much better candidates out there waiting to be restored.

I am tempted
Would be a real waste to part this out. Fix the engine problem, get it to the East Coast and sell it for 4K, IF it is free of rust. But I would definitely grab it. Can't go wrong for that price, whatever you do with it.

Synthetic Leather Seat Covers on Ebay
The covers look good in the pictures. I also will wait to see what they look like once installed. I've seen many covers and most look sub par. Most have wrinkles and don't seem to be seated correctly. I don't know if its because they were installed by non pros or the pattern was off. I really like the choice of stitching. I'll be waiting for the pictures of the installed covers. Good luck, hope they turn out great.

Don't buy hood from Black Dragon!!!
Yes Bad Dog is excellent. Great communication and the part was just like he described. I wish I would have known. I did use Chinese floor panels and they seemed OK, but I guess the tolerances aren't as critical as a hood. Live and learn.

Don't buy hood from Black Dragon!!!
I'm doing a full restoration to my 73 Z. I've been working on it for almost three years now and it is nearing completion. I've bought many parts from Black Dragon and their products have been very good up till now. The body shop who painted the car informed me that if I wanted an A job I would have to source a new hood, because the old hood was "oilcanning". OK, I figured if I'm going through all this expense, might as well go for a new hood. Ordered the first hood from Black Dragon. It came in a box that looked well protected and packaged. I was wrong. After I opened the box I noticed damage to both corners:ermm: Called them, they said take pictures and send them right away. I did. After a little bitching they did send a replacement hood. :disappoin Same S**t!! OK body shop said they would deal with it. The hood was painted separate from the car, mistake! When I started to assemble the hood and headlight buckets, something was off. I had the head body mechanic come to my shop to show me how to assemble the car from the cowl forward. Guess what? The friggin Chinese POS hood was longer than it should be and the curvature of the hood was off, it didn't have as much as it should. It either lined up with the cowl, and the front of the hood was 1" high at the front of the head light buckets, or the opposite. So I purchased a used hood from John at Bad Doug Auto:classic: The hood was as he described, perfect! I test fit the hood this morning and it fit like a glove. Thanks John.

Perforated Leather Headliner
Fixitman, What are your plans for seats and dash?

240Z good for tall people?
The S30 has plenty of room, but as soon as you remove the stock seat to install more supportive seats, your driving position becomes elevated making it very very difficult to drive car with a helmet. The stock seats have right amount of structure and cushion to keep you low, but they can't keep your arse planted. Its been a real dilema trying to find the right seat for street and track. I just drove a third generation RX and my head hit the roof without a helmet!

Just purchased this beautiful 1970 Datsun 240Z Series 1
Wow! Beautiful car. Lets see more pictures. Engine compartment, interior, underside. Couple of things I would do, I wouldn't use urethane bushing, I would stick to the rubber. I would keep the crack free dash protected and that's it!! Beautiful survivor. Good luck. By the way what did you pay for the car?
