  1. View Advert Free 280z 4-speed transmission I have a 4 speed transmission from a '78 280z that I swapped out some years ago for a 5 speed. It worked fine at that time, has just been sitting on my garage floor since then. Free to a good Datsun home. Local pickup only. I'm in Lakewood, CA. 310 493 6354. Seems to be a good place. My only dealing with them was trying to locate a spring perch one Saturday morning. After calling them, I drove on down and the person helping me reached into a big bin full of parts and tossed one over to me - no charge! Anyway, I would take my 78 back there if I ran into something I couldn't handle myself.

mrardente, Don't know if you're still struggling with your injectors-- I tried setting up a little rig and "home cleaning" them myself, but didn't have much luck improving the flow pattern (or flow rate, from what my calibrated eyeball could tell me). What I ended up doing was just packing my injectors up and sending them off to witchhunter.com. For $14 or so a piece, he professionally cleaned them up beautifully, with quick turnaround to boot. Once back in the engine, the performance improvement was quite noticeable. I'd recommend going that route if you can afford it. Marc
  4. So is the idea to twist the strainer out? I attempted to remove mine by twisting a screwdriver against the little plastic tabs on the strainer, but the screwdriver started bending the tabs without the strainer moving any, and so I quit. I didn't want to break them off... I did notice that there might be a small tear in my strainer's mesh - are these parts replaceable? Marc

This may be kinda cheesy, but I just used the small size binder clips and then cut the wire "handles" off the binder clips. I think I paid 2 bucks for like 100 of them at Target... They seem to be holding just fine. Marc
