My Cars

  • About me and my cars
My 1975 280z has been a lot of fun for me. I don't know much about z cars but I am learning. it is stock except for, After market leather seats, steering wheel, and exhaust. It has a rebuilt motor and transmission. which both need work.

    Swaping Parts

Question??????? I have a 1975 that was hit by a crazy woman talking on her cell phone. The most cost effective way of completing the repairs is to locate another Z and use it for parts. my question is "What years are compatable with my 1975"? I will be using suspension and body parts to make the repairs. Greatful for any help Thanx.
  2. WOW! GREAT INFO. Thanks. it's been lots of help. I plan on pulling it out in a couple months, step 2 on my quest to restore it.

    Just Getting Strarted

Thanks for the ztherapy.com. I will check out some of those. but to answer you question I am fuel injected.
  4. Thanks for the tech info. I had found one out of a 78 and thought it would be the same. I'm glad I didn't get it.
  5. Hey. I just purchased my 75, but have loved the z car from afar for many years. Lots to do and lots to learn, but first things first. Can any one can help me find a speedometer for a reasonable price I would be very greatful
  6. HEY I hate to change the subject, but I was wondering what size tires you are running with the R200. Also being new at this, my question is how can I tell what my gear ratio is on my 75. I know that it was put in before I bought the car but thats about all I know.
  7. I just purchased my z 3 weeks ago. I want to do a lot of work to it but of course time and money will tell how far I get. My biggest problem right now is getting it to idle just right. I have replaced all the rubber hose on the fuel lines, plugs, timing, new fuel filter, air filter, all vacume lines check out. but she still wants to rev very high when I first fire it up and it will not drop down until I accelerate past 3200rpm. then as it is sitting the idle will fall off, just a bit but enough for it to anoy me. I also have a loud clunk in the rear end when I jump on it. so needless to say I have been babying it, if anyone has a suggestion I would be greatful, I don't know to much about inline 6's . YET.
