Thanks for the replies. I'd be willing to pay a bit more if needed for the right car, so I guess i'll keep looking. Marine, I'll check out the pics. Thanks

Hi All, It's been a while since I've posted on the CZC and thought I'd reach out since I've decided to get back into a 240z. Any members know of a 240z for sale that is not advertised currently they could PM me the details? Here's what I’m interested in and not interested in. Interested in the following examples types: All original cars with original paint or one repaint with no body repairsHigh Caliber repaint in original color Completely orignal Powered or Properly built Rebello/ Les Collins/ Datsun Spirit Not Interested in: Cars with ZiebartBody Kits/ flared/ etc.. RustFiller/ BondoTrack Only CarsNon L series PoweredAm I off in my price range based on my preferences? Open to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Saro

  4. Thanks Z speed
  5. Taking reasonable offers.
  6. I've put 300 miles on the car and it's hasn't hurt me. Buying any 240z and not having it inspected could result in what you stated. I'll continue to be honest with you guys, I'm asking 10K for it just like the original owner had the car listed for. At that time the car would not start, was sitting on 2 flats. I have since then, flushed fluids inluding clutch, brakes, oil, radiator. Changed front pads..kept the ones originally on the car in a box, battery, spark plugs, plug wires, cap & rotor and a mechanical fuel pump. Carpeting was missing so bought a new set from motorsport. I've put money into getting it running and drivable, paid all registration costs and fee's and still listing it for the price it was originally listed for with the option of or best offer The motor and transmission are very strong...I said it before it's one of the most responsive 240z's I have ever driven...it's surprising.
  7. With new tires and struts it would be perfectly fine on the road
  8. Yes, I got the date from the door sill vin tag
  9. The VIN was taken from the firewall and dash. I have pictures showing this attached below. Paul, I think I remember speaking to you right after I had purchased it. The information you were given sounds accurate but I was dealing with both the wife and daughter and they didn't go into as much detail...it seemed they were in a rush to sell the car to purchase a house. Please see detail pictures of the car in the link below. http://s32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/zpilotz/240z/
  10. Build Date is 12/71 VIN# HLS3035147
  11. I will be with the car in a few hours and will post it up
  12. All very good points. I'm not trying to get rich off of the car and in my opinion, it's just a good Z for someone to buy who doesn't care for title status and or possible resale value. It's unfortunate it has a salvage title and it was involved in a major accident, but overall it's a very nice looking Z and it runs very well. Like all of the older Z's in needs attention. I would change out the suspension bushings with newer ones and possibly new struts and put a set of new tires all around. I had the brakes redone and fluids flushed and refilled. Changed the distributor rotor, spark plugs & wires, mechanical fuel pump to get it running.
  13. The car was originaly listed for $10K when first advertised. Lone, You know I always assumed it was a 1971 because of the center console. and flick hazard on the dash versus the pull type. Mayeb it's a 1971? Not sure but it looks pretty good
  14. I will be taking more pics this weekend for anyone who is interested.
  15. Thanks Roy...it's not damaged but the paint was sanded off for some reason. I had an aerosol made to match engine bay color to respray over the exposed metal on the tower but here is a pic of what it looked like before. Sorry best pic I have
  16. Thanks Argniest.... Psdenno...No, the car is now registed and fully insured in California, just have the copper plates for pics...looks nice. I know it would look much better with the front bumper trims, but I really would like to just sell it for now. Of all the Z's I have ever had, this one is shockingly fast and responsive. Transmission is perfection
  17. Thanks for helping out. From what I can tell the car was hit on the driver side betweeen fender and door. The repairs look fairly decent and I have no proof the car has 10K original miles...except for some service docs. I currently have the car fully insured and they are aware of the title status and had no issues when obtaining it. My goal was to get between 7-10K just because of the mileage and it looks to be in better shape than most Z's I see on the road.
  18. Hi All, It's been a while since I've have posted here, but I’m planning on selling my 240z which has an interesting yet odd history and thought I would discuss it before posting it up in the classifieds. I have a 1972 240z white on black, 4spd which I have concluded that has 10K original miles I would like to part with. The catch is it has a salvage title and was involved in an accident back in the early 70's when the car was new. I bought it from an elderly woman who had advertized it on craigslist in Arizona mentioning that it had 10K miles. After phone conversations and some basic not so good pics I planned the trip to check it out. The car was in a shed in the back yard and in pretty decent shape but dirty and in non running condition. The dash is 99.9% crack free with only one 1/4" crack in the middle of the dash closest to the window. Original stereo, original speaker, original antenna all in working condition, original hub caps, All emblems in near new condition, all original braided hoses under the hood including the radiator, smog pump still connected and working, etc... I know this does not confirm it to be a 10K mile Z but upon looking further with other small details, in my opinion I believe it is. Some of the things on the car just look to clean for it to have 100K. The old lady's husband had crashed the car when it had 10K miles and repaired it and put it back in the shed and never drove it. He had passed away in the past few years so she decided to sell the car. I purchased it about 2 years ago and basically got it running with new spark plugs, fuel pump, spark plug wires, cap & rotor, battery, etc... I'm not exactly sure what it's worth but I think for someone who does not care for title status, and wants to just have a very clean looking and great running Z that this would be an amazing find. It has ZERO rust and the motor/trans is excellent. Please see the pics attached and help me determine a fair price for a great Z with an odd history.

  20. Thank you JM!! Yes, it's the Lower front corner piece similar to the the 240,260,280 turn signal housing. See actual pic below. You wont believe how hard it is to source parts for these cars...way harder than the 240z. How far is Woodenville (98296) from you?
  21. Hi All, I am in need of a part which I located in the state of Washington but have an issue purchasing. The seller is hesitant to sell over the phone or ship the item so I would like to find a member who is willing to pick up the part and ship it to me. I live in Los Angeles and have been a member of this forum and many Z forums for a while now. I persuaded the seller to ship the item, but he is asking $100 to ship a corner valance for a 280zx Turbo. He says it's an inconvenience and this is the only terms he is willing to go by. I have no other options and this is the cleanest piece I have been able to locate. I can send the money by Paypal or Money order to the person willing to do this for the Part, Shipping and gas money/pocket money. Your help is greatly appreciated. Z
  22. I thought all series I's had the vents on the hatch and not on the quarter. Nice Z by the way.
  23. Does a 12/71 production date = a 72?
  24. Hello All, I searched around but couldn't get the answer I was looking for. I need to know if any 240z's marked as a 1972 model had the older style center consoles with the ashtray below the radio vs the ones with the metal sliding ones behind the shift boot?? Or did all 1972 240z's have the metal sliding type consoles?
