i think all in all i will end up having a fab shop make a side exahust with a glasspack running along the edge below the body. next mod will be making a snorkle for better air flow.

funny that you mention that because it just so happens to be i had been thinking that up too! i was acutally pondering the idea of unbolting the manifold from the engine and seeing what that sounded like and to see what the butt dyno felt like compared to when it had the muffler. hopefully more power. but then came my neighbor. maybe when i go trail riding next il unbolt it then when im out in the middle of no where. that way everybodys happy.- no muffler
i unbolted the exhaust at the manifold for to hear what it sounded like. it was louder and shot flames!:cheeky: when i revved it to 6k my neighbor came out all pissed off and said if i tried that again shed call the cops. i wanted to say get used to it but told her id bolt up my pipe again so its a little quiter.- no muffler
could i even cut the exhaust off near or at the end of the manifold to save weight? i wouldnt think it would sound much different then it does now.- no muffler

while i was driving today my zed got really noisy all of a sudden. i knew it had to be the muffler since it was really old and indeed it was. when it got it back to my pad i cut the muffler off and it sounds really nice. it sounds like a race car:love:. before i keep driving it this way is it going to hurt the motor by doing this? i was told it might need more back pressure and i dont want to burn a valve up so is it alright if i keep driving it this way?:devious:- my motor blew
i finally got it fixed- brighter bulbs?
the headlights didnt have dirt on them. i just cleaned them at the plugs that plugs into the blub itself they were dirty. when i said up above that i cleaned the grounds with dielectric grease i was talking about the plugs that plug into the blub itself. my bad. for the record where are the grounds located to check for the headlights if this happens again and i get dim headlamps on the 280zed?- my motor blew

i know its temperary thats why i bought a couple more tubes of it. i think im gonna buy a ford expedition thats for sale down the street in a couple days and either put the zed for sale on here or restore it in my spare time. my buddy says its a rare car so i might restore it instaid. start making me offers if ur interested please.- my motor blew
i finally got the zed back to my pad. my buddy said it was the head gasket. i bought some gasket sealer and sealed it up. it now runs again. i bought a couple more tubes of it and put them in the glove box in case it happens again. now i know this is not the way to do it but the car is just to far gone to put the money into a new engine and it is my only transportation so no time to fix anyway. atleaste it drives again.- my motor blew
i was trying to pass a semi truck goin up a steep grade on the highway i was goin 55 in forth gear so i put it in third and floored it and past the semi and got a little ways ahead. then as im bout to shift back into forth all of a sudden i lost all power and and i slow down very fast and then semi comes roaring past me and the driver shoots me a crazy look and then i see white smoke came bilowing out from the grill. i try to restart it and nothing happens. i opened the hood and white steam billows out. i had my buddy pick me up and he said coolent was comming out from one of the gaskets and my motors blown and i says no way.- brighter bulbs?
thanks for the suggestion i appreciate it i may just do that. if i cant find the parts i need for it i may just have to part it out. this zed has seen its better days and might require more skill then i ever could give it to keep it going.- brighter bulbs?
i went to my nissan dealer and asked em. to my dismay she said she hadn't even heard of a 280zed before so i pointed to the 350zed in the showroom and i says its the ancestor of that car. she said the parts between the two dont interchange and they dont have parts for antique autombiles in their system anymore and to check at my local scap yard.:squareeye- brighter bulbs?
i will ask my local nissan dealer tommarow for the part numbers. i know its by a long shot but he hooked me up on some new datsun spark plugs which he said were rare so he might have em- brighter bulbs?
thanks. i oughta re wire the whole damn thing with a crx harness. i read an article on somebody who used moded a crx harness into a zed. only have the time my signals work.- brighter bulbs?
well i think it got it made. thank you so very much for all ur suggestions. the grounds were caked in dust and mud and other crud from my adventures so i cleaned them and put diealectric grease and they are noticeably brighter. i read bout the wiring harness thing and it sounds to me that its only for the 240 zed.- brighter bulbs?
when its dark and im driving the zed i can't hardly see a damned thing. is there anybody out there that makes a brighter headlight bulb that will work with the zed that wont kill the electricals?- Oil thread
i think when it comes down to synthetic oil and you want the best of the best Amsoil can't be beat. don't take this wrong way as this is not a joke (can you believe that), I had a friend literally drive 100,000 miles on Amsoil with only frequent changes of the filter. the truck is still going today with over 200k...- blue smoke how come
