  1. How does the cable run to the lever? Does it run along side the console wire bundle on the trans tunnel or behind the heater core? Thanks for the photo. Fixitman
  2. There are two openings, one over the other I think, in the firewall between the heater connections and a relay. Which openings is for the choke cables? I haven't been able to find a clear photo of the firewall that the shows the choke cables and firewall grommet. Thanks, Fixitman
  3. Thanks for the info. That solves the mystery. Fixitman
  4. Can anyone tell me the purpose of the (3) forward and (2) aft screws around the shift boot opening? Thanks, Fixitman
  5. You found it. Thanks for your help. Fixitman
  6. I'm thinking it might be inside the upper reel.
  7. Just bring this thread to your attention again.
  8. Thanks for pointing out that the holes are covered. I'll see if the trimmer can punch them out. These photos show the detail of the rear carpet with an attached pad and hold down rings and the storage compartments lined with carpet. I'll upload more photos as they become available. Fixitman
  9. Maybe next year. The interior should be completed by the end of May, then the glass goes back in. A little more mechanical work and maybe completion by the end of June. Fixitman
  10. First photos of the headliner installation are attached. So far so good. Fixitman
  11. I think these clips are for the seatbelts in an early 260Z. But it's been too long for me to remember exacty where they go. Can anyone help? Thanks, Fixitman
  12. After seeing the attached article in Sports Car Graphic (May 1984), I purchased the air cleaner from Jim Cook Racing back in the 80's. It takes a K&N filter for a Lamborghini Countach S. There is even enough room inside for the short Mikuni air horns. The cover attaches with dzus fasteners. Jim had a subcontractor that fabricated the air cleaners. I remember sending him the hole pattern for 40 mm Mukuni's to make up the mounting plate. I have not come across another one in the last 25 years. Regards, Fixitman JimWolf-AirCleaner.pdf
  13. After looking at a photo of the original plumbing, it appears that just the carb preheat line was eliminated. The heater valve controls coolant flow. Am I missing something? Fixitman
  14. The heater hoses are not plugged. I'll have to look into how the shop didn't the plumbing. The car is not on the road yet. But the interior is about 80% complete. I hope to have it on the road in the next few months. Thanks for bringing this item to my attention. Fixitman
  15. Since the original sound deadener is still in place, we decided not to add another layer.
  16. Yes, the windshield has been removed to install leather trim for the windshield and door headers. Fixitman
  17. As shown in the attached photos, the work is progressing but is a little behind schedule and certainly over budget! The carpet is still a work in progress. We're using Wilton Wool III, detailed as found in classic Europeon cars. I don't expect the headliner to be completed for a few weeks now. With the price of good leather and the perforating cost, I'm afraid the headliner is going to be too expensive for most projects. Thanks for your interest. Fixitman
  18. Another linkage arrangement is shown in this photo. Fixitman
  19. I am having a perforated leather headliner made by an artisan trimmer. I don't have all the details yet. But I believe it will be insulated and of excellent quality with a price to match. Due to availability, the perf pattern will be a little different from stock but with similar size holes. Photos can be provided as the project progresses. I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in this item. Once the pattern is made, providing additional headliners could be a possibility. Two photos of the on going interior work are attached. Thanks, FixItMan
  20. Please PM me when the choke linkage is available for 40 mm Mikuni's. And thanks for everyone's input. Fixitman
  21. I would be very interested in seeing photos of side draft carbs with working choke cables. Thanks, Fixitman
  22. I designed a balance or vaccuum tube for my Mikuni manifold. It was fabricated by a machine shop that specialize in race car parts. If you would like a copy of the drawing, please send me a PM. Fixitman
  23. I would be interested in hearing from others on the topic of chocks and seeing a few photos of triples with chock cables. Thanks, Fixitman
  24. If that is the case why, do Mikunis have chocks? Fixitman
