  1. Why not use the chokes? Thanks, fixitman
  2. Could you provide a photo of the Wedge brackets? Thanks, Fixitman
  3. I have (1) NOS outer seal, part no. 16547-E3210 for sale. If interested, please PM me with an offer. Fixitman
  4. I need a few photos showing the relationship of the spare tire cover, tire well and cargo floor. Suggested shots are 1) cover in place, 2) well without cover but with spare tire in place, 3) tire well without tire. What does the cover rest on, damping pads, well rim? How far does the spare sit below the well rim? Please email the photos to dmwolon@comcast.net. Thanks for your help. Fixitman
  5. I also have an early air cleaner. It could be used as is or repainted. It is complete with winged bolts, "special bolts" and NOS gaskets - (1) 16548-E3210, (2) 16547-E3210 and (2) 16523-E4600. Please send me a PM if you are interested. Fixitman
  6. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?41345-tail-light-trim&highlight=bezels Please see the attached link for info on the company I used. The cost was $260.00 a few years ago. Good luck. Fixitman
  7. Thanks for the recommendation. The factory weatherstrips seem like the way to go, even thought they are much more expensive than MSA's. Courtesy Nissan's price is much better than my local Nissan dealer's though. Regards, Fixitman
  8. Pleae comments on the quality, fit and appearace of windshield and tailgate glass weatherstrips from MSA versus factory items. There is a considerable difference in price between the two sources. Thanks, Fixitman
  9. Early or late 260 2+2?

    Thanks,

  10. If I remember correctly, the tech advanced the timing a little but I don't know the particulars. Dave
  11. Another arrangement to consider is shown in the attached photos. The premise for my resto/mod was "how would the factory upgrade an early 260Z", if they were to offer a moderately higher performance street model. Keeping that thought in mind, the carb system includes a factory NOS electric fuel pump with filter, mechanical fuel pump, custom fabricated fuel rail and balance tube. The fuel rail utilizes the original brackets, modified as required, and stainless steel tubing. The rail includes lines for fuel supply and return, vacuum for the distributor vacuum advance and vapor canister, and canister purge. The return line contains the flow restrictor from the original fuel rail. If you look carefully under the carbs in photo ending in 007, you'll see two heat shields. The one directly under the intake manifold is either from a 240 or 260Z. The other shield came with the Mikuni kit. The shields overlap and are bolted together. The rubber sleeve fuel clamps for the SS braided hose are an British car item. Hope this helps. FixItMan
  12. My bezels were rechromed in October 2007. A 50% deposit was required then also. You will not be disappointed. Good luck. FixItMan
  13. I received a check today from this scammer. The check was from North American Title Company for $2,000.00. The parts he wanted to buy totaled $600.00. No return address on the envelope but the postmark is Triboro, NY. After doing a Google search, I talked to a company that issues checks for NATC. They have received a number of bogus checks, similar to the one I received. The signature is for a person in their company but it's not her writing. FixItMan
  14. $260.00 to replate my bezels. They also have pre-finished bezels. I think you have to provide your old ones as a core. Their website has all the details. FixItMan
  15. Congratulations with getting you 260Z back on the road. I am looking forward to the day myself. Custom Coatings rechromed my tail light bezels. They did an excellent job. Custom Coatings 4794-C Woodlane Circle Tallahassee, Fl. 32303 http://www.customcoatings.net/ Regards, FixItMan

"Good day to you right over there,I will like to know if this item is still for sale and If it is, is the condition still remain as described in the advert? Also I will be waiting for your response at your earliest convenience." Followed by. "Thanks so much for your fast response, I am okay with the price of the item and its condition as well. Kindly consider it sold. However, I will be paying you with a cashier's check. If you can provide me with the name and address to send this the payment to,I will be very glad to issue out the payment this week. As for the shipment, I will prefer to take care of that. I will hire a hauling company to come for the pick-up of the item at your location. I'm sure this will be okay with you. Thanks very much. I will be waiting to read from you soon." And... " Hello How you doing today and your family?I Hope all is going on smoothly.I got a call from the USPS service boss today that you will received the package in your mail box today. 17. Your trans looks a lot prettier than mind. If you can't sell it, I probably will not either. So how long do you keep this old stuff before pitching it?
  18. This transmission is now free to a good home with customer pickup in NJ. I'll even throw in a 260Z intake manifold. Anyone interested? FixItMan
  19. According to the Internet Z Club, the differential ratios are as follow. 260Z 74 MT (3.364) (R180) 260Z 74 Auto (3.545) (R180) 280Z 75-76 (3.545) (R200) 280Z 77-78 MT (3.545) (R200) 280Z 77-78 Auto (3.545) (R180) If you keep your existing 3.545 differential with a 75-78 5-speed, you'll retain the factory gear ratios for a 280Z. 20. I've been asked to move my early '74 260Z 4-speed transmission to my house. Before I go thru the trouble, I'm wondering what I should do with it. The trans has been in storage since the 80's. Keep, sell or toss? Value? Your thoughts? Thanks, FixItMan
  21. I don't know of a current source for a Mikuni air box. My air cleaner was custom made in the 80's by Jim Wolf Racing.

  22. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31263&highlight=stainless+steel+exhaust Please refer to the link above for a description and a few photos of my S.S. system. I still have a 2.5" Borla muffler, pipes and clamps for sale at a very reasonable price. All components are in S.S. A local shop or MSA's exhaust fabricator could bend the pipes for you. Fixitman
  23. I have Bridgestone RE960AS Pole Position tires in 205/60-15's on 15" x 7" wheels on an early 260Z. The Z has stock springs with Bilstein strut inserts. I have not received any reports of rubbing in test drives from the restoration shop. Results may differ for a 240Z. I also have RE960As's on a BMW 528 in a 225/55-16 size. This is a really nice ultra high performance all-season tire. They improved the handling, braking and wet weather performance. I'd buy them again. Good luck. Fixitman
  24. You might also contact the company noted below. They did a nice job on my 260Z tail light trims at a cost of $260.00 in October 2007. They may have rechromed 240Z tail light trims in stock. Custom Coatings 4794-C Woodlane Circle Tallahassee, Fl. 32303 http://www.customcoatings.net/ Regards, Fixitman
  25. Perhaps the attached wiring schematic will be helpful for an under-seat amp installation. The layout was used for a stereo installation with separate tweeters mounted in the tail light covers. Regards, Fixitman Datsun260Z-SoundSystemWiringSchematic.pdf
