  1. Could some one provide a photo of the connection point for a stock coil noise suppression condenser? I'm not sure if it connects to the primary terminal of the resister block or the black with white wire near the engine harness/coil connector that accepts a bullet connector. Thanks.
  2. Amazing! I can't even give this transmission away.
  3. I can take a few photos but probably not until the weekend. Thanks for your interest.
  4. Free: Early 1974 260Z 4-Speed Transmission Condition: Unknown. Car was stolen in 1982 with 85,000 miles on the odometer, recovered and never driven again with this transmission. It looks good on the outside. Garage and basement kept all these years. Price: Free to a good home Pick Up / Shipment: Local pick up preferred or buyer can arrange pickup and shipment. Thanks for looking.

  6. If these are of any interest, I have (4) 5" x `4" steel wheels for sale. Let me know if you are interested. Regards,
  7. The cover is list under Soft Trim. What is the down side of not having a cover?
  8. Ragtops & Roadsters / Pollock Auto Restorations had my 1974 260Z on display indoors. The restoration is 99% complete.
  9. How did that cam work out for you?
  10. Though I didn't mention her by name, are we talking about the same Gina?
  11. Priorities change over time. I'm going to feel like a young man again. I wonder what happened to the little Italian girl that graced the passenger seat.
  12. Sorry, I missed your question. I bought the R180 LSD from Bob Sharp Racing when they were selling off parts from the early Z race cars. They said it was a racing spare.
  13. Stock 260 head; I believe that is a E88. I asked for polishing. The valves and seats were cut. I cannot say for sure that the head was ported.
  14. The block was machined and rebuilt locally. The pistons are 0.004 over, which if I remember correctly, was the next size up from stock that Datsun offered at the time. The head was sent to Floyd Link to be rebuilt and set up with the reground cam as noted above.
  15. I don't know if it is an A or a B transmission. I ordered a new factory 280Z 5-speed using the factory part number somewhere around 1990. I was told it was the last new one in the country at the time. Thanks for the advise. But I have already spent too much money and to many decades on this car. It's time to drive it the way it is and then maybe sell it. The next owner can upgrade the cam and exhaust system as recommended. My goal was to build a Z that was higher performing than stock and very streetable. I should have it back from the shop next month.
  16. Is there a dizzy that you would recommend? Thanks
  17. Thanks for the link. Based on this dyno test, my tune seems pretty good. Floyd Link rebuilt the head in 1983. This project is finally coming to an end.
  18. The lines are fuel supply, fuel return to gas tank, carbon canister vacuum and canister purge. The lines can be tracked in this photo.
  19. These are all the answers I have at hand. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks Size of the air horns (length)? Standard short horns, 25 mm Spark plug # (5-6-7) and gap NGK 6637 BPR6EIX / 0.036 Head work (port & polish)? Yes CR? Don't know. Distributor? Stock Timing set at? Don't know. No MSD or similar box? And coupled to an "A" tranny - big gap between 2nd & 3rd as opposed to a "B" ZX tranny and a higher ratio diff. Gearing is stock 280Z.
  20. My early 1974 260Z was recently run on a chassis dyno to tune the Mikuni 40PHH carbs. The tuning is not complete. But, so far, 139 bHP and 143 ft lbs have been measured at the rear wheels. Based on the following drive train description, what are realistic performance expectations? Thanks Drive Train Description Production date: April 1974 Air box: K&N Lamborghini 3-carb filter in Jim Wolf Racing aluminum housing with Mikuni air horns Alternator: 60 amp Camshaft: Racer Brown SS-54-110 – 236 degree duration at 0.025” lift with 0 lash, 110 degree lobe centers, and 0.480” lift net, and valve spring/retainer package Carburetion: Mikuni triple side draft, 40PHH with 32mm chokes Cylinder head: Decked 0.020” Bronze valve guides 280Z intake valves, 0.173” dia. 280Z exhaust valves Valves and seats grinded Built by Floyd Link, Torrance, CA Exhaust: Custom fabricated with flanged connections Header: Euro Car Anti-Reversionary, 1 ½” dia. tubing, 3 into 2, 2 ¼” dia. collector outlet System Dia.: 2 ¼” Resonator: Borla resonator Muffler: Borla turbo muffler Fuel rail: Custom fabricated to duplicate functions of the original system using original brackets Ignition: New stock coil New stock distributor Taylor 8mm Spiro-Pro NGK Iridium spark plugs Oil pump: ZX-Turbo unit Pistons: Datsun 0.040” over, flat top Differential: R180 limited slip, 3.545 R&P set, Bob Sharp Racing spare Transmission: New 1978 280Z 5-speed
  21. This original 260Z transmission is free to a good home. There are about 85,000 miles on it. It was last used in 1982 when the car was stolen and recovered. Consequently, the condition is unknown. Acquirer must pick up or arrange for pickup. If the transmission, suites your needs, I just ask that you make a small contribution to the National Brain Tumor Society. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
