  1. What is the going price for an original, un-used Toyo? I just might sell it.
  2. A 185/75-14 is an option but is it a wider tire? I'm concerned with raising the cover. Vredestein makes a Sprint+ in a 175 HR-14. Has anyone purchased this tire?
  3. But will a 195/70-14 fit in the spare wheel well without lifting the cover? Fixitman
  4. My spare tire wheel will be back from powdercoating shortly. The question now is whether to remount the original Toyo spare tire, which was never used, or find a new replacement tire. I'm concerned about the safety of a 38 year old tire. But I have not been able to locate a new 175 HR-14. Has anyone found a suitable replacement? What is the maximum tire size that will fit in the wheel well without protruding above the rear deck of an early 260Z? Thanks for your input. Fixitman
  5. I have my original 260Z heater core. It could be rehab'd and reused. Let me know if you are interested. Regards, Fixitman
  6. Not yet. What is the best way to attach the covers, screws, tape, combination of screws and tape or Wellnuts? Does tape alone provide a good long term attachment?
  7. Years ago, headlight covers came with Wellnut B-832 threaded fastner. "WELL-NUTS® are a flanged rubber bushing with a brass machine nut molded into one end. When seated in the work piece, a conventional machine screw is threaded through the head of the Well-Nut® into the brass nut and tightened. This causes the insert to expand, making a secure fastening." Are any headlight cover manufacturer's still supplying this fastener? Fixitman
  8. What has been your experience with aftermarket headlight covers, especially means of attachment? Is Altec the only current manufacturer? Does acrylic tape attachment hold well over time? How much hand fitting is required? Thanks, Fixitman
  9. Thanks everyone for your help. Fixitman
  10. Could someone with an original 260Z check the roller location on their doors? Thanks, Fixitman
  11. You are correct; I have an early 260. The doors have two cut outs. Hence, the confusion. So to be clear, the 240 rollers are installed at the front (hinge side) cut out. The 260 rollers are installed at the rear (latch side) cut out. Correct?
  12. And is this the original location for the rollers?
  13. I'm confused. Is the original factory location for the roller in the front or rear of the door, hinge side or latch side? Thanks, Fixitman
  14. Thank you. The photo really helps.
  15. The FSM for 240's and 260's shows the door glass rollers or bumpers almost in the center of the door along the top outer lip. However, the shop is telling me that they do not fit in that location. Can anyone describe the correct location or provide a photo of an installed roller? Thanks, Fixitman
  16. With my carb setup, I decided to use a 2 1/4" dia. custom-made Borla system. The 2 1/2" dia. muffler is identical in size to the 2 1/4". It fits well. You can see a few photos in the Members Gallery under Fixitman. A $100.00 for a muffler and tailpipe that will last over 10-15 years is a terrific deal. You just need to have the tailpipe welded on or one end flared. If you are interested in a full S.S. system, I can put you in touch with MSA's supplier to have the pipes bent. Fixitman If you would like a quieter exhaust system, you could even add a Borla resonator.
  17. I have a pair of front valences from my early 260Z for sale in the classifies. Interest has picked up in them. See link below. http://www.datsunclassifieds.com/showproduct.php/product/7161/title/front-valance-corners/cat/4 Regards, Fixitman
  18. I have a 2 1/2" Borla exhaust system for sale in the classifieds. I'll give you a good deal on the muffler and any of the other stainless steel parts. Fixitman
  19. QuickorBrochure.pdf This 1982 brochure may be of interest. It appears Quickor offered springs on an inquire basis only. I have their anti-sway bars on my early 260Z. Regards, Fixitman
  20. The trimmer prefers to measure and install any trim item he makes. Sorry, but he has declined.
  21. I'll ask if the pattern was saved and get a cost estimate. I believe a half hide is needed. Add a backing, insulation layer, binding plus labor and my customary markup and the headliner becomes very expensive.
  22. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I missed your post. Seats are Recaro LS's in matching leather. Dash will be stock. If it could be done, the cost would be prohibitive to cover the dash in leather. Fixitman
  23. Can anyone identify whether the following horn information is for a hi or low frequency horn? Miymotohorn Japan Model ME 12V8A115dB Date X3 Thanks, Fixitman
  24. Outside of Mount Holly, Burlington County. And yourself?
  25. Thanks for the photos but I need choke cable photos for a 260Z. Fixitman
