  1. That is just simply magnificent. Its the one big project for my Z I need to do. The engine bay refresh will be the last mountain I have to climb.
  2. please post pictures when you get them on. I love the rewinds in that gunmetal look.
  3. I sort of agree. Why put money into something you are going to swap out anyway. You say you like the sound of the straight 6. Put the money you would have put in the 8 and put it into great parts for the 6. Sure the 8 may be faster, but the total driving pleasure of keeping the car true to its roots far outweighs that. Besides, a hot L26 is FAR more rare than a V8 swapped car.
  4. What wheels are on your friends red car Arne?
  5. Warren, they look stellar... very nice job! I read your post on how you got the different sized front and rear. I think I like the rear more.
  6. You go man, I am 100% in support of you!
  7. You sir are an artist. Beautiful work.. You have inspired me to tackle the detailing of my engine. I cannot wait to start
  8. Its a little ways off. Need to save up for wheels and tires. There is nothing wrong with what I have right now. Just need to let it gel a while. I will probably do some gunmetal with a polished lip when the time comes... more conservative, or just leave it the heck alone and just get tires... thanks for all the advice.
  9. five and dime, Are those 15" or 16" panasports on your two 240's
  10. Guys, I am coming from the world of Subaru WRX STI's. Gold to me is a performance rally color. I do like gunmetal as well.. but when I say gold I am thinking of something matt, and not bling shiney chrome. Gunmetal would work quite well too.. HAHA, bored, no, but I am having a hell of a time finding respectable street/autocross tires in 15" rim sizes. I know if I were to get 16" rims, I can get more choices in decent rubber. So the search for rims started!
  11. I have strongly been thinking of picking up another set of panasports for my daily street driving and using my current set for autocross. I have always love the look of the gold panasports... Do you guys think I can pull that off?
  12. Have a great time, and yes, by all means more pictures...
  13. That balance tube should be seeing a vacuum not pressure. It connects to the tube Arne was talking about and it sucks the excess vapors out of the crank case to ensure pressure does not build up. If your getting pressure back through your intake, that means that during the compression stroke, there is a leak path back to the manifold, through an intake valve.
  14. Well I just ripped all the wires out of my vintage JVC that came with my car, and I am looking for a replacement. I will have to look at the MSA vintage sound one.
  15. Very Much interested!!! I will be contacting you, as it seems this is the proper way to solve the problem. If there was a nice OEM replacement that would have worked I would have gone that direction, but using your harness was always the preferred solution.
  16. Well I am about tired of the crappy lights on my Z, and I am desperately wanting to update them. My cars alternator is completely stock as is all my wiring. I would like to upgrade, but was wondering what is the best choice, for a stock wired 240Z I know Zsonthebrain sells that fabulous wiring harness, and thats a good option. But is there an improvement possible without it?
  17. and what your wife will allow.
  18. I think that 300 WHP in a Z is a mountain of power. So your looking for around 345 at the crank...wow. Thats huge. But for 8 to 10k you can definitely achieve it. Look into Rebello. They can build you a stroker motor.. http://www.rebelloracing.com/enginebuild.htm
  19. I will say this before you answer anything. A powerful responsive NA engine is a thing of beauty....
  20. How much power do you want? More importantly, how much power do you really need? What is the car going to be used for? How often will it be driven? and how? Does it need to be a daily driver? What is your budget? Is the rest of the car up to the task of more HP? These are all questions that need answers before any meaningful answer can be given.
  21. I am so glad you posted that pic Arne. I have that plastic cover that fits where the bottom seat connects to the top seat. but never knew where to put it, now I know!
