  1. I am so thankful to you guys. I decided to redo my entire interior. May try a color change to burgundy. We will see. However, I have never heard of that interior company before. Their product and prices look outstanding. THanks so much for the new source guys!!
  2. Beautiful cars guys. really nice. One day I will make it to Z con. ONe day.
  3. Mike you are the man !! It's like they made that for me man One question The side that mates to the head looks very thick How does it compare with the cannon for thickness ? Ordering one today That is perfect! And I can use the OEM push pull rods
  4. Casey, your Z is looking mighty fine my friend. Mighty fine. You have excellent taste in modifications.
  5. I have definitely come to my senses, yet again I have decided to double down on the Z. After the suspension redo (and wow, what a difference that made, I am going to start to make her a little bit that much more special. Since I have already departed on the 100% original path, I think I want to explore some more fun yet fully reversible ideas. I am going to get a new BRE rear spoiler but leave it flat black instead of body color. I want a new intake manifold for my Triples so I can use the original push pull rod throttle likage, as the Cannon I have is just complete garbage. So in my future, I think I want to get some parts from the Kameari swag A Kameari intake for the triples, a pair of Kameari drivers and passengers seats. a Datsun Competition wheel That is the new target for the Z. Going to give the interior some lov'n.
  6. I agree, about once very three years I have started a thread like this. You guys keep me sane.. It is next to impossible to sell a car without a single bad vice. End thread.
  7. I think you just convinced me to remove the vertical bumperettes on my front bumper blue.
  8. Man, an NSX.. never thought of that one. Always wanted one for damn sure. Let me do some google searching. EDIT: Forgettaboutit NSX bubble has left me behind. I don't roll that hard. Cheapest one I found was 1991 for 89000 The problem is that the Z is just so mod friendly, easy to work on, parts are cheap, and all the same reasons I picked the Z versus the GTV and 911 8 years ago are still true. Then I see a long nose RS clone and I get weak in the knees.
  9. Well I have had my Z since 2008 and have loved it with every drop of blood and sweat in my body. Still do, just love her to death. Every now and then I get the hankering for something a bit more exotic. Call it stupidity, call it insanity, or just call it what it is. I have a short attention span. I have started to get the itch for some german or Italian metal. Namely a Alfa GTV or a Porsche 911. Now the long nose 911s have floated beyond what I can ever afford. But the SC's and on seem to be in my wheel house. I was thinking of selling my Z AND my roadster as a pair (or separately) and hopefully I can get close to enough cash to snag a decent 911 or GTV. I know it is crazy, as I adore both cars. But I just do not have time to drive both as much as they need. And selling one is too hard to think of, so somehow I can rationalize selling both and starting fresh. It would take me a solid two days to photograph both cars and documentation and receipts I have. But if Arne was here, he could tell me about the 911 experience. Am I crazy. I do love the Z. With the Suspension redo, it is now the best it has ever been.
  10. Update on my Z. The car has settled a tad but not much. Much of the gained ride height (which is one of the reasons I did this) has thankfully remained there. Car still runs and drives beautifully. Getting her off ramps and up and down driveways is so much more pleasant. Unfortunately no good deed goes unpunished. I have developed a squeaky rear hatch. Drives me nuts on what was a very squeak free (for a 40+ year old) car. My seal is somewhat fresh and but when I push down on it, you can hear it. Really needs to be fixed. More on that later. Go out and drive those Z's, its October. It does not get any better than this.
  11. Man, have not posted in a while, but yup throttle shaft as stated above. And yup, Z therapy are miracle workers with these parts. Make SU's sing again.
  12. Going to order an eastwood tumbler. I always wondered if you could use a brass tumbler like for cleaning spent rifle casings for automotive use. I pick one up at academy each time I go an think, this would do a great job on my small parts for the Z and roadster.
  13. This is properly over the top. I like it, Please keep posting!
  14. Just and FYI, I just put my old tokico springs up for sale in the classifieds. 75 bucks plus shipping.
  15. Just a note, the Eibach springs lower the car a bit. Make sure, but I recall reading the KYBs are stock replacement struts, and are not meant to be used with lowering springs. I could be mistaken, but just a note. Chickenman, you are correct with the harsh compression on the tokico HP. I just put some new ones in mine. And while it is FAR better than what it use to be with the Tokico springs/tokico HP shock combo I was running it is not what I would call soft by any means. Taught but controlled comes to mind. Now running new tokico HP and Eibachs, which has transformed my car into a wonderful daily driver that can really take corner better than it has in 40 years.
  16. Whoa, is that what I think it is. Does that use the outer bolt to give the 71 and 70 year Z's a rear sway bar option! Hold the phone! so you would need to drill One hold per side for the angle bracket then. that seems doable.
  17. so took the car out to get an inspection today. Will go at lunch or something. But took my first corners in anger to see how the suspension loads up. The Z has never been this good. The steering response is immediate. The body roll that I had with the worn tired struts is gone. The car feels like it can take corners 20mph faster. What an amazing setup. I cannot see any reason to every buy a different combination of sprint/strut. I am stunned at how good the car changes direction and how poised it is on turn in, and mid-corner throttle applications. Wow!
  18. What a great idea! I will put a pair right there this evening!
  19. Well what really helped is I upgraded my OSHA white safety socks to the new padded wool OSHA grey socks. Much better padding and comfort.
  20. It was fairly easy, but looking back I wish I would have taken the time to powercoat everything and do the spindle pins. They just looked really good, no rust, no stuck bolts. The whole thing went together rather easily if I am honest, of course it did not hurt that I have taken half of it off several times before with diff swaps and bearing jobs.
  21. The ride is much improved from what I can tell so far But I need to get her out on the road more I just went a few times around the bock to check for any clunks or weird sounds Going up the driveway was immediately noticeable Very happy I did this!
  22. Okay here is a pic after: And before : Not the best comparison really. I am shocked I did not have more side shots of the Z. But Let me say this. For the first time in my ownership of the Z I can actually press down on the fenders and the car moves and gives a bit. You know, like a car should. Going up and down my drive way was immediately apparent I have now have some upward movement. It was great. I want to take her out on a longer test drive. The frost is the most noticeably higher. I was worried about having a saggy but, but I really think it is pretty close to level. But I have definitely have more gap in front than in back. Where I use to have barely 2 fingers in back, I have 3 now. Overall I am pleased. Very pleased. I will write more on the differences when I get more miles on this set up. I wager both the front and back will settle a bit more.
  23. So, I am torquing every thing up this morning on my friday off, and notice that my rear A arms are the same, I mean literally the same. One just looks to be flipped over upside down. The flats on the rear A arm are on top on the one side, and on the bottom on the other. Well after I was done cussing the previous owner, I went into the factory service manual to see which side I will be needing to order. Turns out in the picture, it is the same way in the factor service manual. How did I not notice this before???
