  1. Good news, is my fuel smell is GONE, I filled it up with 8 gallons to get it past half way and sloshed it around as I drove it... ZERO gas fumes! YEAH. Bad news, Gas guage goes up to E, and does not read an ounce above it and does not move. I may have a bad connection or a bad sending unit, BOOOOO
  2. I am really starting to think a 205/50 would look great on my car.
  3. I finally got the evaporator tank connected and got 7 gallons in the tank, so I was able to get the car out of the driveway and out on the road. Here are some much better pictures of the VTO LeMans. Now if I can just figure out why my NEW gas sending unit is not putting out any readings above empty! GRRR before after
  4. Zcarsource quoted me around 600 bucks depending on what was wrong with it. so I think 600 is about right. If I ever go the 5 speed over my stock 4 speed I will get one totally redone.
  5. Well for your clock, there is only ONE place. http://www.zclocks.com/ You simply cannot do any better on your clock. I have used his service and it is spectacular
  6. Eureka!! Napa had 3/4" fuel injection line. I can finally finish this project
  7. You brew your own beer. Man that explains the pertronix thread, HAHA
  8. You are right, I should have said, the VTO LeMans only come in 15" I completely agree. That is the same reason I wanted to go 16" a while ago like Frank did. I can get autocross quality street tires in a 16". I can barely get summer tires in a 15", and only race tires in a 14". My biggest problem is my width kills me. With my stock body work and my tokiko springs, I am limited to a 195/60/15. I guess I could go 205/50/15, but that gets REALLY short. I may puta set of those on my panasports for autocross days.
  9. These Lemans only come in 15x6 or 15x7. I would have sprung for some 14x7's if they had any!
  10. We live a society that craves cheaply made products. Where price is the most important thing, and quality is a long forgotten concept. People are content with payingvery little and replacing it every 2 years, instead of buying a well made part that will last, that costs 2x as much. Short term thinking and instant gratification make this crap possible. That and people always want the looks over function.
  11. I will get you some outside pictures as soon as I can get the damned 3/4" vent hose on my car so I can finish my evap tank installation!
  12. It would seem so if they all start out life as a +0. Also it would seem the VTO sold by BRE are lighter than the ones on Adams and My car. Maybe it is just lighting.
  13. THanks, I have ordered 2 more. I think I will put some R compounds on the Panasports for autocross and the occasional track day.
  14. Well after 2 years of sitting on the fence. I have purchased a set of rims for the Datsun. Well 2 of them anyway.I could not get any really good pics, I was limited to the garage since it is finally raining here in Texas!! But I think they look quite amazing. I am running 195/60/15's on them. I may be able to get away with more tire, not sure. But these are a bit lighter than my panasports at the worst they are the same. I need to get some full profile pictures for Dave Pattern @ FutoFab. I am happy to report that Neither wheel nee ded an ounce of weight on the balance machine. A testament to both the Bridgestone and the VTO wheel. OR a completely incompetent tire balancer...We will see. Anyway, without further waiting... I fully realize these pictures suck. But Give me a day or two. I will need to get the car running. I still am missing a vent hose to the evap tank, so the car has no gas in it. I get tired of pushing it around for pics. I will most likely be ordering 2 more wheels. These look amazing.
  15. Those 205/50's look pretty darn good. I am guessing you are on stock suspension then?
  16. If they are the MSA ones, then yes, they are the same ones. But for 6 bucks I thought it was a no lose try. Arne, the VTO Lemans, look AMAZING. As soon as I get my car off jackstands from the gas tank and evap tank redo, I will get some pics up! You will really appreciate them!
  17. My NEW VTO rims arrived today. They are simply beautiful! I will get them mounted as soon as possible. Dave I may be ordering two more pretty quickly. If I order Monday, can I get them here by Friday. Car show on Saturday would love to show them off on. Naturally I have to see them on the car first, but they are beautiful! Ordered a set of these to see how close they come to fitting!
  18. yes, the filler neck has a plastic fitting in it that connects it to the vent hose, and it is stamped 3/4". Not sure why they would have changed for later years! I have ordered hoses but if they do not work out, I will be happy to send hamptonrubber some money!
  19. OP, by Arne's car. I can promise you it is a more original and well cared for example!
  20. Well it looks to be a rather clean little car, but we cannot see the floorboards or the under battery tray. You would need to drive it to see how the brakes feel and how it starts and warms up. If you go, make sure you are there to watch them start it. Feel the engine before they crank it. If it is warm then they started it earlier to ensure it would start well for you. It has some of the original fuel saving gizmos still on the balance tube. They may or may not work. If the body is solid and it runs, then 12k is not a bad price at all.
  21. not much room, the grommet and hose are so darned tight. I did wrap the braided hose with electrical tape and smeared some oil on it and it went in like a charm. I only wrapped the first 3 inches, so maybe I need to wrape more of it, or ALL of it to get it to work. Still almost done. Hopefully when my 3/4" fuel line gets here I can make it fit the vent tube from the filler neck to the evap tank. I did get the gas tank back in the car though! Looks really good in there! Rubber bumpers worked like a charm!
  22. UPDATE: Well I spent an hour or two fighting with installing my fuel vapor lines to the evap tank. The one that is just killing me is the half inch cloth braided one that needs to fit through a grommet near where the crankcase vent line comes in near the fuel filler neck. It is just crazy hard to get that grommet in!! And worse is when you try to put the braided line through it it forces the grommet out. I have lacerated and bruised hands from fighting with that dumb grommet! But it must go in. Some buy in Japan in 1971 installed that grommet, so by God I can too! All other MSA fittings worked like a charm. Everything on this car is amazingly well thought out. I love how all the hoses just happen to have clamps right where you need them! I should be able to wrap this up this weekend if all goes well!
