Need Super HI RES photos of Z's in action or still
I am doing some major garage overhaul, and I thought I would make a mural or a fathead from a photo and put it in my garage. I was wondering if people could send me any super hi res photos 6 MB minimum of any Z pics they have so I can blow them up to at least a 4' x 6' image. My email is sdamico555@gmail.com I got in the mood to paint the entire garage yesterday, then I figured I may as well put of a shelving system, then I may as well hang the bikes, and the list goes on and on. While I am waiting for my transmission and parts to come in so I can do a swap out, I may as well be productive! I must be crazyROFL

1971 type A tranny question/problem
Been trying to get Roger to give me a call back. I am itching to get him some money. Great guy to talk to and do business with. I can respect that he puts life before Datsuns. And here I thought they were the same thing.

new headlights
1971 240Z totally can confirm what Arne says. At night I am a good 1/8" into the + side, thought maybe I had a regulator issue. When I looked at the diagram again, and realized what was really happening I understood. I may one day upgrade to a 60amp internal regulated alternator, but not until my stock system dies.

Removing the cooling lines (intake manifolds)
When I had put my Ztherapy carbs on I had them removed as well. You can use the stock fitting on the oil filter side of the engine, but just block off the port that connected to the intake heater line.

Custom battery cables-DIY
This is a wonderful idea... thanks for bringing this up. I am still looking for a good way to hold my optima down...it sits in a plastic box that is held down by a stupid nylon strap. PO was not too big on fixing this.. It is time to make it right.

Early 72' Rear Brake Cylinders. Got 2 ?? PLEASE!!
Well this is what is to come with these cars. Fewer parts available for cheap. We should just be thankful we can find them even if they are expensive. What about Zbarn Dave? They seem to have hundreds of used parts.

Let's Paint it Yellow
word of warning.. use care when taking off the stripes, they can pull off paint. I had a chip or two come off when I took mine off. Had to find some touch up paint to cover it up.

1971 type A tranny question/problem
Yup, Doug has several used Type A's on the shelf that he said he would sell me, and at a reasonable price I might add. to rebuild mine though, he estimated it would take 900-1500 dollars. Which I take to mean that h really does not want to rebuild it. I called the Zbarn, and had a great conversation with Roger... he is going to take a look at some of the gears in some of his Type A's and pick one that look good and get it to me. I was VERY Pleased with his attitude and his willingness to help me out. I Still have to pay shipping for a tranny from him, but the extra work he puts in makes it very much worth it to me. Thanks Traveling Man for the recommendation. Thanks

Physical differnces between a 240 and a 280.
AHEM!!! not totally void. Although the woodlands may as well be in another city as far as it is from me Frank.

1971 type A tranny question/problem
I gave him a call to see what he has. I think I am going to go this week to try to pick up a few of those local transmissions. I hate to start a tranny collection, but the odds of getting another bad transmission are likely.

Houston Texas Classic Datsun get together
Franks just wants to show off those choice new wheels! haha... The woodlands is a bit of a haul for us around Kemah and Webster, but I know the area is very nice. Lets keep planning. coffee and cars at our last location was pretty easy to find and get to. I like the idea of sipping coffee and talking cars!

1971 type A tranny question/problem
Ordred my transmission jack form harbor freight. Funny thing though. The 450 lb tranny jack they sell is going for 80 bucks. Other 'reputable' dealers sell a similar product for 700 dollars. I just better not be under it for very long. I am concerned about buying another used tranny. I could get something worse than what I have now. Guess I have to roll the dice. Is there any way to check the quality of the transmission prior to installation.

1971 type A tranny question/problem
MIne is a 7/71 build date... so geezer is right, I was on the cusp. Wish it had a B type, would be much easier to find a replacement.... Of note, I have found two Z shops in town that have them for a VERY reasonable price. I am thinking of picking up a couple of them in hopes that are as good as these chaps say they are. THen I can take my time and rebuild mine...should be fun!

1971 type A tranny question/problem
I just need to try to find a known good one...That is the catch. Datsun spirit has them for 1100+ dollars, but I would think their has to be some around cheaper than that.

1971 type A tranny question/problem
I actually agree that the type A does not feel bad. Especially after I got my hardened shifter bushings. I have a few months to think about this. I can still drive the car, but its time to start thinking of how I want to solve this problem. I think I want to find another Type A and then drop mine perhaps try to fix it. While I am at it I can put a new clutch in (obviously) and I may opt for a slightly lighter flywheel just to add some 'pep'.

1971 type A tranny question/problem
I sense sarcasm here! haha.. Actually upon looking at the 72Z manual for transmissions, I am not sure I can tackle this job, as I would need a Type A manual. What is the best place to find a reliably rebuilt transmission? Does anybody have any experience with ordering one?
