  1. Thanks guys. I'm now using smaller (not as good sounding) speakers until I get enough bread together to get the big booming system.
  2. I have a 1978 (manufactured Nov 1977) 280z 2+2. I recently wrote a thread about "electrical weirdness" happening in my car. It ended up being my accessory fusible link burning up to a crisp, I believe because I used home stereo speakers in place of car speakers. Does anyone suggest, or know what the proper ohms/watts speakers should be so I don't burn up another fusible link? Is there a mod I can do that will allow my electrical system to handle big booming speakers?
  3. I had a similar problem with my '78 280z 2+2. I put in new injectors and it runs like a top.
  4. Thanks guys. I've got the originals with the codes. I'll bring them out to Nissan and get them cut.
  5. I've got a 1978 280z 2+2. Can anyone suggest a place for me to get a second set of keys? Do Nissan dealerships make duplicates of Datsun keys? I just want to have a second set for backup.
  6. She's also running rich. Since my last tank of gas, fuel economy has worsened. Will an alternator do this too?
  7. Yeah baby! A blast form the past... still seemed like a relevant question though. I was curious myself. That's a sweet '71 you got there. Cheers.
  8. 280z newbie here. :stupid: Here's the deal: I noticed that every time I stepped on my brakes, my stereo speakers made a funny noise. Then I noticed that my voltage meter would sputter with my engine. It didn't affect overall performance; it was a small issue. Then, every time I stepped on my brakes, my stereo would simply shut off, or my brake light would come on. The red charge light comes on now and she backfires/sputters and loses all kinds of power going up hills. I'm having issues that seem similar to injector problems. However, I'm inclined to think it an electrical problem since the brake light and car sputtering were the first signs of this issue. This morning I had to jump her off and she progressively ran worse. I think the battery is fine, because all of my interior dash lights and warning tone are working. I brought her home and she's parked waiting for a solution. Do I have an alternator problem? ECU? Fuses? I've got a stupid question: I installed new speakers in my car, could they be taking too much juice? Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope.
