  1. Right ischium. Hard to walk, hard to sit. Six weeks estimated recovery, and I still haven’t gotten the mail (which was my mission at the time.)
  2. Well that will slow things down. Slipped on the ice on Sunday and broke a bone. Shoot...
  3. Compact Z?
  4. Public Service Announcement: If you buy LED lights from SuperBrightLEDs, you need two not one license plate lights and the ones SuperBright sells will not fit in your housing. They are trying to make it right by sending me some that they say are shorter, but I'm not really confident they'll work either. The ones Superbright sells are too long and you will not be able to screw your housing back together.
  5. Big thanks to Yarb for sending me an '83ZX Distributor to take my measurements from. My distributor which was a Datsun Comp model was traded for a batch of heat shields which I vapor blasted and made look new. Never occurred to me to take measurements so I would know where the cut needs to be made in the Jeep CAS. Thanks Yarb!
  6. The L28 likes compression. Wakes it right up. The ecu does not like funky signal. My old website PlanetZ from the 90’s gave instructions on how to put NA electronics into a Turbo AFM. Can it be done? Sure. It runs like $^!#. Use FASTEFI or one of the other aftermarket EFI systems.
  7. Datsun rich environment!
  8. Pretty much every Porsche from the 1980’s back uses this. It’s called a torsion bar. The twisting motion created by one side causes a reaction to the other side that plants the suspension. Very effective.
  9. I don’t have a stock distributor. I could buy one I suppose.
  10. @duffymahoney, what’s the name of the machine shop that did your Jeep CAS? My machine shop guy wants to talk to your machine shop guy.
  11. Not too bad. I did take pictures, I just have to send them from my phone to my email so I can post them. I then took my Eastwood surface conditioning tool and stripped the rust/ paint then repainted.
  12. Ok so wish me luck. Today, I'm removing the linkage standoff on the firewall for the carb linkage. I had intended to leave it in case someone 30 years from now wants to go back to carbs, but the ZX Master Vac is uncomfortably close to the standoff so I decided it has to go. I searched for days for my 8mm spot weld bit and then gave up. That's when I found it! So why wish me luck? You never know what you will find behind two pieces of metal that have cuddled up for 47 years!
  13. No such thing as cut and paste back then. In the 1960’s Lyndon Johnson accidentally called the Blackbird aircraft the “SR71” its actual designation was RS71. A team of stenographers had to retype every document so as not to embarrass the friendliest President NASA ever had. To this day of course, the plane is still called the SR71 Blackbird and NASA still has one they use for test flights. For this reason, I doubt these documents were simple cut/paste.
  14. Love the leading and trailing calipers. Externally valves shocks.
  15. Keep it stock. We are only caretakers. On another note, he must be a very patient man. If it had been mine, you’d have been on the back of a milk carton... sorry for your loss. Be careful with your gain.
  16. A few cars back, plotting a big pass!

The power of the mask... A nurse I work with disappeared over the holidays and shows up yesterday. I see her in the break room and ask if she was on vacation? She says no, she had COVID. I asked her if her boyfriend, who she lives with got it to. Nope, we both wore masks and he slept in the spare bedroom. The masks work. Even in the same house. Oh, and wash your hands a lot.
  18. Feeling a bit... empty?
  19. Not a Z but I thought you guys might like the sponsor!
