  1. It shouldn't be a problem Captain. I made a foam core template of the gasket so I can go into the Pick and Pull with proof before I buy!
  2. Captain, Modern TPS uses really two TP sensors to determine throttle position. It has one that measures the position from one direction, and a second that measures it from the other. That actually does look meaty enough to bore it and put a new butterfly in it. Thanks!
  3. I may source one to see if I can adapt the DBW and TPS to my Big Throat TB. Thx...
  4. I'm hoping to go Drive by wire (DBW) with this engine. If you've been following along, you know that I am using an N42 intake so I need to find a throttle body that bolts up and has the throttle actuator and throttle position sensor installed. It should be in the 70mm - 75mm range. Anyone know of such a beast? I know that HybridZ is probably the place to go for this, but I can't seem to log in and the email that I originally signed up with is long dead.
  5. Well, I have mine as a core and I would think a 73 240 would be less common than the later ZX's. Which size did you go with? I tore all of this out so I could refinish the engine compartment. I've owned the care for 40 years and I have painted the exterior 3 times. Once red, once yellow, then back to the original white but I've never painted the engine compartment and it looked so dirty after I did the last repaint.
  6. Good to know. I was going to have the booster rebuilt but I could go larger. I have plenty of room. I will no longer have any throttle linkage so...
  7. @Yarb, indeed, that is what I just pulled off. I still think I will go with a 1" Wilwood. I'm going with bigger brakes too as I'm doubling my previous HP...
  8. I wish there were old timey paper pics. I was discussing Brainerd International Raceway in the Boobs thread this morning. On another occasion, I was out in the middle of the track with my BF Mick. He was driving his 4WD truck and I was the front seat passenger. I had my Canon AE1 and a 100-300 telephoto zoom lens. I was looking at the girls sitting in the back section of the jeep in front of us when one of them started flashing me. I stared and Mick yelled "shoot pictures!" I said, I'm out of film... He said "They don't know that!" She jumped out of the back of the jeep and ran back and handed me a piece of paper with her name and number on it. We didn't spend much time together. She was crazy and I was a med student needing less crazy at the time.
  9. I realized that after I looked up the M3... YIKES!
  10. @grannyknot, my proximal problem is finding a DBW throttle body that has the proper bolt spacing to be bolted up to the L28 intake manifold. Mind measuring your bolt spacing? 😎
  11. So Yarb, I looked in to it. Turns out I didn’t have to look far. That’s what is on the car now!
  12. I’ll look in to it, thanks!
  13. So a little more stuff came today. The fuel rail from ProTunerz in Canada. Nicely finished piece.
  14. Thanks Yarb! I think it's a family operation. The kid spoke up on Facebook and said he was in SoCal...
  15. Ok, I sorted out the Wilwood MC situation by checking Silvermine Motors site. Next question. Who rebuilds/restores brake boosters?
  16. Anybody know which Willwood master cylinder replaces the factory one? I am fairly sure it's a 1" MC but I'm looking for a part number so I can go shopping...
  17. Pictures would be killer. I'm trying to imagine your problem. My Datsun Competition headers, which are more than 4 decades old, can't be installed with the steering shaft in place. I have no other fitment issues and have actually fabricated heat shield for the brake plumbing as boiling brake fluid is no bueno. Show us the problem.
  18. I've been hesitant to pull the brake lines apart. When you do anything in a restoration, you risk the part not being available and in the case of brake lines, you might have to make them. That is possible as the tools and tubes are available. In fact, I think I've had a rudimentary flaring tool in my stash since the 1980's. A remnant of working for my uncle at his gas station before going to school and learning to put people to sleep and keep them pain free while a sadistic bastard cuts them up. I guess that makes me complicit doesn't it! But yesterday, I watched a video of a guy named Francisco Gutierez as he put in new brake lines in his Z. I checked his source which I had to determine by looking at the box as he tried to dump the contents out. Turns out the tubes are available and they are $329.99. So I called and heard the sweet sound of her yelling "order up." Know your date and year of production. I think they have 3 different tubing sets available for the Z. Pretty sure Francisco is a member here. His channel is Panchos Garage. https://Classictube.com
  19. As I was reading through this thread, I was thinking the very same thing that Alan ultimately said, This is a 'Body in White.' I have never heard of Nissan or Datsun supplying a body in white to anyone. Porsche does, but if you ask about a BIW they will tell you NLA... It follows, as Alan said, this adds credence to the BSR connection because you'd have to have some serious stones to get Nissan to supply a body in white. If this was stateside, I'd definitely consider it at that price. In fact, it might be on the low side. Never mind the BSR connection, it's a body in freakin' white! You can't do the paint and body on your project to bring it to this starting condition for that price!
  20. Thx, will do...
  21. zKars, Do you have a website or do you sell them in the classifieds? All of this delay putting the motor in is because I'm refinishing the engine compartment. I suppose I could have tried to clean it up, but since the old engine was out, I just started going after it a section at a time. I soon found out how tedious it is. I'd rather repaint the exterior anytime!
  22. Well, I won. But it took more than a flat head and it pretty much destroyed the female side of the latch... Oh well!
  23. Just ordered the ProtunerZ fuel rail. They must be in Canada as they charged me for Canada Post?
  24. She's somewhat resistant to opening back up. I'm trying though. I have to get it off though because I plan to replace the female portion, heck, both the hood and firewall side with newly plated latches. Just have to find some...
  25. And the female portion of the hood latch mechanism is NLA...
