  1. Enkei or copies. More '80's than '70's but ok... Tough part is the sparse tire selection for 14" wheels...
  2. I'm told I need to use the 8920...
  3. Bob Sharp again... Contemporary?
  4. Peirce Manifolds in Gilroy, CA
  5. I would say an hour and a half of searching is enough. I get all kinds of search results on 280ZX distributors and such but not what I need. So, sorry for the forum clutter but I still have no tach... The MSD6AL is installed under the dash with a custom mount to the fan housing. Red and Black power are direct to the battery. White wire is direct to the wire coming out of the distributor. Black wire is direct to the negative side of the coil. Orange wire is direct to the positive side of the coil. Red wire is to a black wire with a white stripe coming out of the harness right by the coil mount. The MSD6AL appears to be working, but of course the coil is not working. I have the MSD 8910 adapter but when I hook it up as directed by MSD I still have no tach. MSD says to hook up the tach adapter inline with the red to red and white to white. The car starts and runs with this set up but no tach...
  6. I use fuel injection rated hose and the return line to the tank...
  7. Ok, thanks to Amazon for the quick delivery, my new RX7 fuel pump arrived yesterday. I installed it a few minutes ago and all I can say is HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I now have no fuel pump sound at all. I have a permanently installed fuel pressure gauge and a fuel pressure regulator in my engine compartment and what was 2psi is now 2.5psi. Silent and efficient!:classic:

Coop, I wondered what happened to you on day two... My car was sitting off to the side of the track up in the autocross section. Fuel pump problem. You should have snuck up there and pulled the motor!
  9. Be sure to let me know if you're coming. I can have up to a dozen guys according to Keith. If I don't get anymore Datsun guys, I'm opening this up to some Porsche friends...
  10. B&W Friday...
  11. The kits have been 'generalized' so not all parts will be used. Pierce will confirm that for you if you give them a call...
  12. Cat, I will be setting up another for early next year... See you then.

  14. I think MSA has them...
  15. It does over-protect... I had to ask him. You should see what he is up to now! He is making aluminum rear calipers to match the Brembo aluminum calipers I have on the front of my Porsche. These will reduce the weight by 4# per corner. These are the fronts - gorgeous! I'm hoping to talk him into making aluminum Sumitomo copies... They would run about $600 - $700 without pads.
  16. Well, if you're in SLC and you don't mind wandering down to Sandy, a friend of mine restores brakes down there. He has a set of cores already so you can call him up and pick up a set of new ones and just drop yours off. That'll take care of your brakes! He restored these Alfa Romeo Brembo's for my Porsche and restored my stock Sumitomo's so they look like jewelry. There is a thread in the brake section about his process. His screen name here is Eric_Shea.
  17. The change in wheel diameter is essentially the easiest gear change you can do. I agree that 14" wheels really liven up the Z but unfortunately, tire selection has made the 14" wheel obsolete for me... I run 15" at the track and autocross and will probably get some 16X7 or 8 street wheels. Nice pics guys... I love Road America!
  18. I ordered one from Amazon a few minutes ago. Silverstreak1971 had told me to get one as I complained about the jackhammer that was the fuel pump I got from Summit Racing. Sad thing is the Summit Racing model I got was about half again as expensive.
  19. Ha Bruce! I do have a set of core SU carbs sitting around somewhere with a manifold that I almost rebuilt and put on when I was frustrated with my 'triple-trouble'. But they aren't the flat-tops. Not sure what boat they are preventing from drifting...

Blue, it starves the triples at WOT...
  21. Spitz although I have done probably a 1000 autocrosses, I have only done about 5 track days. For that reason, I will be staying away from Laguna Seca for a while yet...
